yup, knots! hey tex, don't fan so much until you get pins though; high co2 is good for pin formation at this stage. fan more once ya get a pinset.

Good info MD! I did some reading after your comment, CO2 is good for pinning. Dropped my fanning down to 1-2 times a day. Sound right?

Since yesterday I have seen about 8 more pins pop up.
On the pink tub I decided to give leave it colonizing, will decide tomorrow if its time to fruit. What do ya'll think? Another day or 2 or is it ready?

remember that if you think your subs looks overly saturated with water. the best thing to do is wipe down the lid and the top 3 or 4" of the condensation from the top of your bin. this lowers the humidity a bit and will stop that condensation from dripping.

also stacking another bin on top of that lid makes the water droplets not accumulate aon the lid for some reason. scientifically i can't explain why but it probably has something to do with electrons lol...

looks great so far.

Thanks eat's, I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. I do a daily wiping down and then give it a nice light mist with the fanning.
Ive been getting more pins poping up in the blue tub. Not sure how great my pinset is/will be but I'm just happy making it this far into it with both tubs and no contams.....

I finally decided to start fruiting conditions on the pink tub but it looks like the sub was ready before I was cause I took off the foil today and starting giving its first real fanning and I noticed some pins. I guess my checking on it this past week gave it enough FAE and light to get it going.

PS, and that pack of coir, with the instructions. I never realized that you can grow reptiles and lizards in a coir substrate. That's cool to know too.

No problem Cultosaurus, I learned more from the threads like this that had lots of pics and its also fun for me! If it wasn't for mycotopia and the members here I wouldn't have the know how to be able to do this.

I forgot to put in this thread that I have been using the wax paper as a "caseing" trick for about a week now. I read about it here and its been working great it seems. I just tear off 2 pieces of wax paper that are the length of the tub, ball them up so they get all wrinkly and then flatten them back out and lay on top of the sub. When I fan, I just take them off, give the tubs a light mist and fan some more then replace the wax paper and close up the tubs. I have been replacing the wax paper with new pieces every other day.

If it's ok with ya'll, I'll be updating this about every day now since I have something exciting to look at.

Looks like the biggest one and a few others in the blue tub just broke their veil, so I'm gonna wait till at least tonight to start picking the ones that are ready.

The pink tub is slowly coming along. Plenty of tiny pins just starting to show. I'm just hoping for a nice pinset on that one also.

Looking very good, a suggestion though, you may want to increase the light exposure your giving them by a little, maybe add a led to the top of your bin, i have knowticed that they do reach for light and givin them just a bit more will help prevent the osterage effect (when the cap takes a nose dive for the substrate). Mind you this is just a suggestion you have some awsome results, i do it because i hate chomping into a cap full of verm heh, keep it up

as long as they get a notion of where there's light everything tends to work out fine...
and could you really complain about anything with a flush like that??

Thanks guys for the suggestions and comments. They really dont get much light just a couple minutes, 3 times a day when they get fanned.

So I decided to go ahead and do a half harvest last night cause the biggest boomer in the middle shot its purple load in my tub. I did my best to be gentle when harvesting them but it still took a good chunk out of the substrate. Will it be okay after I dunk tonight?

The big boomer that was in the middle weighed 70 grams wet. I'll have some more pics later tonight.

Good to hear MD, I was just worried cause of how much substrate got pulled up when harvesting. Thanks eats and jackpot!

So I just finished harvesting the blue tub on its 16th day of fruiting and 7 days since I spotted the first pins. I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with the harvest. I don't have a wet weight cause that would have taken forever so in a few days I'll the dry weight.

The pink tub is coming along, not quite as nice as the blue but still kickin out new pins every day.

What's up guys.......Hope all is well!

Well today the blue tub got a 4 hour dunk. I got a little careless while I was draining it and it broke in half , but oh well. That sub sure did shrink! The first flush has been sitting in front of the fan and will be put in some boxes tonight with some damprid I picked up today. Anybody wanna take a guess of what the dry weight will be? I have no clue....

Pink tub is still kicking along and I picked the biggest boomer that was dead center cause it broke its veil today............Weighed in at 55 wet grams.
