Thai Lipa Yai Grow

And it begins!

26 BRF Jars knocked up by homemade syringes from a print donated by a friend here.

Planning on 2 monotubes which will be my first. Will use poo from the mini horse farm up the road.
This will be my 3rd grow log here at Mycotopia, so a Big Thanks to you all in the past 9 months for all the knowledge and help!!

It's cool to see someone else using five holes for their jars. I agree that the Lipa Yai are an energetic trip. They kicked my ass! I'm interested to see how they fruit. From what I've seen they develope short and fat.

Yea, cant hurt the growth with 5 holes. Each hole got .5cc, so 2.5cc per half pint.

I think Im gonna have to set back up my TIT cause my temp right now is only 67.

What style of tubs are you going to use tex? Are you putting black plastic in the bottom? What are you going to use for fae? Are you going to put drain holes for the bottom of this tub?

I will be doing 2 monotubs, with holes put where they are3 supposed to go, with a fan in the same room for circulation and manual FAE a couple times a day. Yes, I will be using plastic on the bottom, but its mainly just for easy of cleaning and for keeping light from the sides and underside. I will probably putting drainig holes for ease of draining after dunking after flushes. That is if all goes to plans of course, I just knocked up my jars yesterday! And yes this strain is supposed to be a fast colonizer.

When your jars are close to finished you should put your tub set up in this grow log. There's been a lot of questions lately on mono tub set up. I think it would help a lot of noobs here reading these grow logs.

I will but just do a search here and you will find good pictorials. Monster Mitch over at shroomery has a very good one also as all his write ups are. Damn Good threads with damn good links also.

It colonized in two weeks, however the person used a large amount of solution from the syringe and had the same 5 injection sites. He found that the first flush had 50 percent aborts, yet he go some big flushes. The shrooms were tall, thin and the caps were bell shaped.

This is definatly my favorite and most worked strain. Some isolates I've taken have been quite fast, some just above average. Rarely do I get an extremely rhizomorphic sample, but always strong regardless. Potency is consistent and amazing. Expect insane clusters, but don't expect giant fruits. Never had problems with aborts. The problem I need to fix is side pinning. My tubs seem to switch to side only after the first flush, but I suspect it's due to the damage harvesting does to the top of the substrate.

Good luck sir! I'll be keeping a close eye on this.

Now I just need more spawn!!

So temps in my closet havent risen above 69 degrees

, so I decided to set back up my TIT

, I couldnt find my old tetra, so I went and bought a new 200 watt one at the local Mart for $25.

Now my temps hold steady at 80 degrees

, and I hope to see signs of germination soon!

Hello All!

All things looking good here on the grow. All 26 jars have germinated and are growing well in my TIT.

Pretty much all my jars showed germination after 1 day in the TIT and 4 total days after innoculation.

Here are some pics 8 days afters innoc and my TIT holdin steady at 80.5 degrees.

Any suggestions and feedback are appreciated as always!!

Alright.......Finally, after over a month im back and have time for this grow.

Today I went by the minature horse farm and the owners were more than happy to let me have all the poo I wanted. I forgot my cam, but they had over 15 mini horses running around, it is a nice little farm. Out behind the main barn they have a 20 yard long poo trail about a foot deep. So I scooped up 5 gallons of nuggets. They were all nicely aged and had a good 2 days rain this past weekend.

This is my first time getting and pasteurizing my own poo so let me know if I miss or need to know something.

As ya'll can see I used this screen table to shred the nuggets down. I'm not totally finished yet shredding as I should finish tonight and get it pasterizing in the buckets. I also went and picked up some coir and verm to add to the poo.

Yea, hopefully I'll be breakin out the big guns like MD is doing in her thread!....She's killin it!

So today I picked up a paint strainer bag and put it into a 5 gal bucket. Added the poo with some coir and verm to the bag; Heated 4 pots of water to 180 degrees and dumped them all into the bucket so the bag was totally submersed with some big rocks holding it down and then put the lid on. Came back 2 hours later, lifted bag out and dumped all the poo water and squeezed on the bag to get some more liquid out. Put the rocks that where on top of the bag holding it down when submersed and put them on the bottom of the bucket and set bag on them so it could drain some more.

So, should I do my next bucket the same way or change?

I've been wating for you to post on this thread. Hope you get a big yeild. I use turkey bags in the oven to pasturize my hpoo (I do this in the summer when I can have the windows open in my house, poo in the oven stinks up the house so I move to straw in the winter). I'm sure the methed your useing is just fine. Good vibes your way.

To hold the heater down, cause the suction cups just dont hold and I don't want to melt a hole in my TIT.

Very awesome setup Tex! A foaf has been working with the Thai Lipa Yai too. they do colonize very fast imo. He/she just transferred the fully colonized cake into TiT also. Got pins popping up like mad. Definitely gotta say I love this strain but, I'm still working on what strain works for me since my PE got trich and didn't pan out I'm trying mexi cubes.

Yeah I got the exact same 200 W heater from wally world for 20 and those suction cups don't work worth a damn.I just ended up using silicon on the bottom of them.For some reason mine really doesn't work all that well though.I'm lucky to hold 81 to 82 with the temp turned all the way up.Just wondering if you got the same problem so I know if it's my setup or the heater itself.

Nope, Mine will heat the crap out of the water. I have it set below the arrow mark, so about half way to keep it 80 - 81.

Feral, I did not have a problem at all getting the lids of. Most of the cakes popped out whole but some werent so easy so they just got forked out in chunks.

Day 5 since spawned.......

MD was right, I was just being impatient. I was just used to my quickness with my TIT but after doing some reading, everything said temps around 70 were totally fine since the sub will put off heat. Plus the poo mix was at about 36 degrees when it got spawned too since my bucket had been sitting outside.

Well guys, Today I got started making another mono by getting some sub pasteurized.

First I got some horse poo.

The I got my screen table out and got to shredding.

After 20 minutes or so, I have this.

Then got some coir.

Expanded the whole brick.

Then I got my 5 gallon paint strainer bags out.

Lined both my buckets with the strainer bags, Split the poo and coir between the two and added a 1/4 of a bag of verm to each.

Then started heating some water to 175 degrees by using a meat thermometer.

Once heated, poured enough water to submerse the bags completely and placed a couple big rocks to hold the bags down and placed the top back on.

Came back 2 hours later, pulled the strainer bag out of the water, dumped the poo water and held the bag for about a minute so it could drain.

Once draining pretty much stops, I place the large rocks back into the bottom of the bucket.

Then I place the bags back into the buckets, on top of the rocks, and push down on the bags to squeeze more liquid out of the sub, then just place the top back onto the buckets and let the bags drain on the rocks and cool for about 8 hours.

Once cooled, check for field capacity and spawn!
