![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Psilocybe Weillii Multispore Mycobag
Psilocybe Weillii Unicorn Mycobag culture. - Multispore Culture, Spores from Tripsis. - Rye grain spawn (12days) - Sterilized (2,5hrs.) Substrate mix: Straw 30%,Straw Pellets 30%, Conifer Wood shavings 30%,Horse manure 10% (9 days) - 3cm Casing layer: Pot Flower Soil, pasteurized - Temperatures: Spawn 27-28 Degr. Celsius, Fruiting 23-25 Degr. Celsius - Pins after 70days, which all aborted, then nothing until 2 months later when again pins showed which aborted as well. And now, 1 month later (5 1/2 months after casing- it was cased 27.February 09) these fruits came up. Comments: The Weillii is known to take about 2-3 months till they first show any signs of fruiting, which in my case happened, too. But due to a bit dried out casing soil these and the fruits 2 months later aborted. I watered the culture heavily over 2-3 weeks and now I got finally maturing fruits. You surely could see the somehow a bit to wet fruitbodies when looking at the stems. But on the other hand they are still a bit dry, too because the caps are cracking while flatten out. The Weillii grows very similar to the Caerulescens & Semperviva. Fast and dense grow but slow to pin, it even takes double the time to pin than with the other two. I'd say the Caerus take double the time of the Semperviva and the Weillii doubles the Caerulescens time again. When it comes to fruitbody growth the Weillii lie between the Semperviva and the Caerulescens, they take 10-12 days. And they also benefit from a wet casing and should never be allowed to dry out on the surface of the soil. Besides they appearance the fruits do sporulate well, the growing box is covered with dark spore dust at the bottom. If everything is going well I got around 25 prints from this flush. What I find most impressive is the different look of the fruitbodies, some have the typical Weillii look, while others look more like Semperviva or Caerulescens. All in all these three species seem to be very close relatives. "All good things come to he who waits" and another entry completed in your encyclopedic survey of psilocybin containing mushrooms. Very nice pics! ![]() I love how the caps formed in the casing layer carries a bit of the soil with them. |

Thanks. I am not quite sure but I think the splitting caps are a result of too dry sub. And about potency. Look at the bluing pic. I do not trip on artificial grown mushrooms. I just print 'em and throw 'em away... | |
