Z-strain or KSSS...a mislabeled story

So i made another monotub again, this means another grow log.
The spawn was labeled as Z-strain, but these small obese pins confused me...they're reminding me of my earlier KSSS grow projects.
Anyway we'll see the results and in a few days it's gonna be obvious.

Sub(same as usual): hpoo/coir/verm/a pinch of worm castings + additives.
Spawn was whole brown rice/verm/pollen and quinoa.
The colonization took 8days, used 1 1/2 quart spawn to approx. 15-20quart of pasteurized sub.

edit: those clusters also indicates that this is KSSS imo.

I would have to agree that they are KSSS but I will hold judgment until the fruits are fully grown

I have some z going atm and I believe you are right my friend, either way you are going to be a happy camper soon! I might have to give these a run soon!

The problem with trying to judge a strain based on pins is most all cubie pins looks that same. But, once the mushies devolope you will know if they are KSSS as with PE there is no mushie that quite looks like the KSS strain when fully devoloped.

update...looking at the tub and the pics now i'd lean toward that this is Z-strain

these arent tall shrooms, rather short...
about the fatness: i realized that when the ksss grows in canopy they wont be that obese(however this is their trait...as a lotta people think).

on the other hand i can recognize the stems of the ksss(a lil gnarly), but i've never seen such traits on any Z-strain grow.

anyway, as the harvest goes on i'll make a few pics to confirm my theory

That is a tough one to identify, JD. Regardless, those pics are quite beautiful, as are all the grows of yours which I have seen.

I used to grow a bunch of different strains at once, and I just got so damn confused as to what was what

that I decided to focus on one strain at a time. Of course, I was working with cakes only at the time, and once I dunked and returned the cakes to the FC, I was lost, lol.
