Gotta love the ******. I love the outdoor stuff and the huge lawn in front. I regularly used to hit up a local coffee shop and head down there for an evening toke with a friend. I also liked their Asian art exhibit.

Nice pics. I have a friend thats a professional photographer, I'll ask about the low light gallery situation. I think she's on vacation but she should be back soon.

my dads camera has a museum mode where it looks like its off and its really not
But for darkness try supporting it aginst your nose hand and lean your hand against a wall for added support, cuz with out a 'pod there is really no way to get a clear dim room shot.
then if the photo is still dark you can touch it up a little with photoshop (just a little)
The most important point is to make sure your steady, not too much you can do with a blury pic.

Here's some indoor museum pics of framed art that I liked. All I have to do on my camera is hold the button half way down for a second and the viewfinder will go from dark to light (auto shutter or something). I don't know crap about cameras really but this camera is by far the best and can really take good pictures...

if you can change the apeture and shutter speed on your camera then slow the shutter speed as low as you can without making a blurry image i wouldnt go more then 1/30 of a second and lower your apeture to not much bigger then f4 if you have a light meter use it and brace yourself as much as possible when shooting

    problem = nikon 5600 is full-auto,
    cannot make direct settings
    just uses various 'modes'
    all pre-set

if you have photoshop to name a few things there is the brightness contrast function, burning and dodging, hue/saturation, auto levels and curves function fiddle around with it for a while to find what looks right

under image --> adjust --> brightness / contrast
then as i lightened up the the pic
and add contrast to bring it back to normal.

sometimes i start with auto adjust to see if that does anything
    but usually not enough.

Of course, but that's more work and lower quality than a picture that
has correct lighting in the first place isn't it?

You can download Paint Shop Pro for a free trial, which is what I use because I'm not a pfossional image editor (and its 1/3 the cost I think) http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1047025487586

But you can get photoshop free trial also http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/

I pay for software, but a 30-day trial is usually all I need for a small project.

well im not afraid to admit that im not willing to pay outragous amounts for software. The trial is usually enough to do what need to be done.

First see all the exhibits and when you're ready to go, turn the flash on and start picture taking. Get as many as you can until you're kicked out.

    Great pics Hippie!

The Nikon doesn't allow user settings? I thought that cam did.......I went with a canon over a Nikon for various reasons. The Nikon lenses are just so awesome though! Great shots none the less.

I love the peacock picture.......its so funny how every zoo I've visited always seems to have peacocks just running all around.

    some do, some don't.
my digital is a nikon coolpix 5600 and it's full auto only,
but my nikon N80 35 mm has both, auto and manual settings.
the digi is just handy as it's smaller, needs no film, etc.
