I have a friend that definitely loves the Dead and has sent me CDs he made. I don't consider myself a fan but I like some of their music and I went with my friend to see them live at Carter Finley Stadium back in 90. Some guy was yelling, "Electric Water!" and proffered us some bottled water with a sheet of acid stuffed in it. Oh man... good times. I don't dance but I certainly did at that show and the vibe was amazing. Like many people that have experienced something similar to what I did, you can go on and on about it. It's funny: I just did a Google search before I posted this and it looks like this show is documented thoroughly here: http://www.dead.net/show/july-10-1990 I remember when the PA went out too! Cheers, Joric

Have a profound admiration for Tolkien's works, and an especial affinity for the cosmology of the "Silmarillion"...it seemed appropriate therefore to like, go with this epithet...

Nice. Hail the first lights of Arda and those who beheld them.

mine is pretty self explanatory - Stonedcoder ... i'm a software developer by trade (or would that be profession ...hummm) anyway i was sick at home for a couple weeks and found that when logging in from home i can write some sick code while stoned ...anyway that happened right around the time i registered on the site - so it just popped into mind. anyway - if i have an important project - i usually save the hardest part for the weekend and jam it out at home with weed and tunes ...isn't this the way all banking software is written (or at least should be)

Awsome thread BB. I just found it and read all the way through. In some ways mine could be related to yet another Grateful Dead connection. I used to wait with baited breath for the dead show every year to hook on the clean acid. A sheet would get me through the year. So I'm a big fan of tripping in the wilderness where you can completely dissolve. episode #1 My girl and I go to a place to camp just east of the three sisters in oregon and drop some super clean acid. We hike up this butte where we can watch the cloud formations from the coastal fronts squeeze through the mtns and make all these wild clouds and formations. As its really coming on hard I look up to see a native warrior type riding a mustang in the clouds. He stops and looks at me or through me and explains that the native peoples have used these plants forever and to trust their guidance. I remember babbling something about how we have always had these plants. This was before anything other than acid had ever passed my lips. I knew nothing about the plants of the gods. So I lay back down and completely launch out of myself. Right then an unkindness of Ravens fly right above us and start sweeping over us. Somehow I ended up slipping into the viewpoint of one of the ravens and flew around the butte where we lay. Eventually we all came to rest on the top branch of this gigantic Poderosa Pine and the whole time this did not seem weird for some reason. I could look across from the top of the tree to the butte we were laying on and over to where the tent was located. Then bam I came back to myself and had this feeling like I finally got back to who I am. Something ancient and with purpose not the skinny little college kid with no direction. So then I gathered my carcass up and started to walk down the hill with my girl in tow and headed off in some unknown direction. Eventually I run low and behold into the grandfather of all Poderosa's. The giant tree I had perched on and looked around from through the Raven's eye. episode #2 Years later on a off fishing day in Craig, Alaska. Same guy used to hook me up on the acid at the show year after year. Take the acid to alaska with me for the summer. I go hiking frying balls. Crawling on hands and knees following bear trails through old growth forests and acres of devils club. I finally get above tree line to the elf garden above. Eat a couple more hits and go to the top walking across the muskeg and crumple in a heap of sweat, blood, and mosquitoes. Boom I blast out of myself again only to find myself peering out again from an eye of a bird. This time I just soar very still and look around out to the coast and the fishing grounds and east across Price of Whales island to the interior. As quickly as a blink of an eye I'm back and covered in mosquitoes. They have actually lined up on my veins on my arms. I look out to see two Ravens soaring on the updrafts and smile. Someday this will all make sense in some story that spans lifetimes. Till then further we go........ |

A friend of mine was checking out photos of Boletes I'd posted. He said something like, "Holy cow! You are the myco master, I mean, myco mistress." That made me laugh. When I was thinking about a name to use here it seemed to be a good one!
