    I found this cool little site that helps you with proper writing in Chinese. I'll post it below if anyone happens to be into this sort of thing.

    Yeah, I just resized the image area and then cloned
    the background to fill the empty space.
    That way your avatar won't contain any gray area.
    Your pic has to be in a ratio of 4:3 or no more than 480:360.
    The pic will then be resized by the system to fit the
    area taken up by the avatar with no gray boarder.

    its funny u should bring this up now, i just got my sons name inked with the chinese characters. it looks great if i do say so myself.
