    Good Movies?

I just watched The Prestige, and it was a really entertaining flick. Along the lines of the illusionist with more twists and a better plot.

Watched Flags of Our Fathers the night before last, and thought it was a great movie. I recommend it for any war historian types, or war movie buffs. Tells the factual story about the island and battle of Iwo Jima, and the famous flag raising picture.

My all time favorite flick is One Flew Over the Cookoos Nest.

Have you seen any good flicks lately? What is your favorite movie or movies?

Watch "300". It is based on Frank Millers comic.

Flags of our Father's was pretty damn good. That movie Invincible was a heck of a lot better than I pictured it to be also. Cars was kind of cool too. Really, there isn't a hell of a lot of kick ass new releases out there that I know of.

Oh yeah. The other night we watched Silent Hill. I had no intentions on watching it, but we got it on demand the other night and it was actually pretty kick ass! It was almost like an intense acid trip or something. lol. Not bad at all. Pretty damn good actually!

My fave flick is a low budget aussie flick called "He died with a falafel in his hand." It's a story of a strugling writer moving from share house to share house, focusing on the characters he meets. Great stuff.

Big thumbs up to both The Prestige and to The departred. I liked The Prestige better than The Illusionist also.

Tonight we are going to watch A Good Year with Russell Crowe.

There are actually several good movies out right now that I want to see.

Anybody see a movie called MirrorMask?

Got that one on Netflix the other day. Really amazing movie. Neil Gaiman, the guy that did the Sandman series, wrote the screenplay. Very trippy and beautiful visuals. Inspired by 'the Labrinth' aparently.

    Sony has some clips here...

Went to see Bridge to Tarabithia the other night because my buddies gf wanted to see it. I cried like a little bitch!! It was a truly wonderful movie. Not sure I will ever watch it again because it stired up some shit I would rather leave repressed but by and large a winner.

Just saw the 300. It was a decent flick, although historically inaccurate in a few spots. Lots of violence, beheadings, and blood in general. It is definitely a guy movie. It was also a bit cartoonish at times. Xerxes was a big mofo, he stood like five feet taller than Leonidas at one point.

With all that said, I would still see it again for the entertainment value.

    300

ok, so i'm a fan of frank miller and his comic movies, though I returned 300 to the bookstore as soon as I bought it, but that might have been due to it seeming like the guy is making too many movies all of a sudden despite how cool his comix are. Sin city was neat, but as soon as something become s mainstream its looses its value, imho. just look at teenage mutant ninja turtles, like from the originals created that didn't have different colored bandanas and had nothing to do with pizza or hiphop. what about frank millers ronin and batman returns? when an artist is ignored there you will find his greatest works

however, I went to see 300 anyways, and departed.... ok so I did some acid before showing up, but still, those movies kicked serious ass... I still have to see them sober.... here's my sentiments from 300s viewing:
    ep, its a good one.

deriven from a comic book based on a fictional representaion of an historical event, I still liked it, and want to see it again.

3 hits of white fluff, even if kinda old, still leaves me wondering if that was the movie or the acid.

fuck me, that was a good movie... i hate giving up in the middle of physical pain, its just an illusion after all.

I want to die for a cause as challenged and just as that.

is that movie just propaganda for the upcoming apoicalyptic us vs iran war?, i mean spartans representing democratic ideals fighting against slaves borne from the persian empire? fuck those motherfuckers, I want to reenlist already!

    arg

    fuck
don't you hate it whe nyou type a bunch of shit and then acidentally push some button that erases it all, and closes the window? fuck

I mean being kinda drunkish doesn't help

lets see if I can summon my previous precious sentiments

ok so, that movie, like others, inspired somehting

the good ol' famous last stands.
i felt something truthful about that rant though. haven't seen the movie, but studied a bit of greek history, and if the facts are true, those spartan's represented what well trained, well equipped, volunteer soldiers fighting for the protection of their native land can do. that kind of morale the, persians did not have. and these kinds of battles do remind me of how pussy i am.
the spartans weren't completely democratic, in fact they owned slaves, i just want to add that they were fighting for the freedom of the city-state of Sparta, not for the principle of freedom itself.
but comon, how heroic is 7,000 Greeks versus 200,000-300,000 Persians? ahh, the carnage of melee warfare.
