Costa Rica vacation ?

I am going to Costa Rica on vacation in Oktober !

Just curious if maybe one of the members here has been there too ?

...Well I'm going to Manuel Antonio and want to go snorkling for a couple of days.
I can borrow an underwater digital camera from a friend of me.
But I know only one known place ,..that's called Isla del Cano !
That Island is pretty far away from Antonio..,do you know snorkling places closer to M. Antonio ?

I do not have my own transport,so most of my snorkling will be done with a tour guide (like with the Islad Cano).

I've never been in that park, but I know several people that have and enjoyed it thoroughly. My parents are building a house in Quepos, which is right there where you're going. If you can, head south to Jaco. It's nice also and the surf is good there. Although the winter months bring in better swells. Mega amounts of hot chicks all over that area.

Yes,I was planning to go to Jaco ones...I think it's aboud 60 Kilometers from Antonio.
I don't remember why I wanted to go to that place,but I think it's because of the beach !

Was a bit of a suprize ,that when I went to the travel agent,the winter was allready fully booked,..only date that was free was 13 Oktober !..lucky me !

Oh boy..,this is going to be so much fun !

I lived for a while at Coco Beach in Guanacaste, north on the Pacific Coast. I did lots of swimming and goofing around on the beach, but not so much snorkling because the beaches there tended to be high energy, lots of waves and sand bottom, so little reef and lots of surge. I'm sure there are lots of good places I don't know about for snorkling around Manuel Anotnio, but for skin diving you might also think about trying CR's atlantic coast, especially off of the Cahuita park, south of the city of Limon. It's easy to get from the Pacific side to the Atlantic by public bus. Have a great trip.

Costa Rica is brilliant! Jaco is nice... we weren't there for very long. Dominical is a few hours south and it's a surfing town. Nice beaches all along the Pacific. Montezuma is a tourist spot for Europeans... lots of English spoken there, it's just a boat ride across the bay from Jaco.

You are going to have a great time! Check out the rainforest if you can.
Me personally, I love the monkeys and the mango.

Damn right. The hotel we use has those old timey full size mirrors that tilt in them. You can tilt the mirrors horizontaly and then tighten up the wing nuts really good to blow lines on. Hehehe.

Something else Space. Watch out for your personal belongings. You'll get your shit stolen faster than hell if you're not paying attention.

Thanks for reminding me,..I've read somewehere that stealing there is some kind of 'sports'..lol

The wife and I went to Manuel Antonio and Quepos several years ago, and never felt the least bit threatened. Much worse in the Caribean IMHO. Love the rain forests the wild life the water...did a horse back tour through a spice farm and the rain forest that was great...It's my favorite place to vacation to date...

It's not about being or feeling threatened. It's about being careless or forgetful about your personal property. No one will hold you up at gun point, but if you leave a purse, bag, exc. unattended, you may as well count it as being gone.
