I like Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, Hallucinogen, old Blues music (like taking a step into the past), Boards of Canada, or anything that strikes my fancy at the time I'm looking through my playlist.

Done the pink floyd thing. Works. Anything mellow without sinister connotations is great.

I would recommend some Pink Floyd or Tool. Tool's 10,000 Days is so incredible while tripping. But I've found it's really whatever you feel like listening too at the time. I put on Children of Bodom (Swedish Death Metal) once, and it was just as good as the chilled out Tool song I had switched from, which was just as good as the techno and rap I had randomly listened to before it

Supprisingly, I havent tried Floyd yet, I intend to sometime soon. I usually listen to Shahin & Sepehr. A guitar duo that really provokes emotions. Very handy when my wife is with me.

The Pink Floyd thing is where you put The Wall in with The Wizard of Oz and play it perfectly syncronized (it fits completely.) Did that months before tripping but it still messed with everyone there. Yeah, listened to Tool that night too.

Theres a psytrance band called Psylocybe Project.
I like Dead Can Dance to trip, it can really take you to an ancient time far away...
Also Juno Reactor which has some trippy songs like God is God, Conga Fury or Mona Lisa Overdrive.

+1 for Shpongle and Juno Reactor. Beautiful. Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Carbon Life Forms, to name some others.

I didn't believe that psychedelic trance is a good music to listen on trips, until I tried once .

It has to be something progressive, not agressive, that really drills into your head and blows your mind away . :

Classical music should be very fine, too. Gotta try it out some day .

Anything you are comfy with ime. One of the worst things to do is go through a trip listening to something that you arent into. Its beyond painful for me, but im weird like that.

Oh, that might be the one. Dark Side of the Moon hmm. No wonder it was weirding us out. We tried DSotM months beforehand, then did The Wall while tripping. But it fit. Strange. Maybe it was the shrooms.

Alarm Will Sound is a orchestra that put out a cd covering Aphex Twin's Druqs cd. Its incredible the way they can get those strings working. Also a great cd is Eraser by Thom Yorke. he is the lead singer of radiohead. Beautiful Ambient music!
