    STS9 Tour Any Topians Going

Just gearing up for STS9's summer tour, finally hitting my area. Don't care too much for Umphrey's but I will have to deal. Just wondering if anyone is planning on going to any of the shows in the southeast next month.
7/30 House of Blues Myrtle Beach
7/31 Koka Booth Ampitheater Cary, NC
    8/1-2 Masquerade ATL-GA

Already got my tix for MB show, gonna see at least one night in ATL too. Oh and for those of you who follow them, check this video from Wakarusa, huge lasers are now part of the show now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VtOK8Oo5eI

    No not this year

No I was at 03 through 05 was when sts9 was tha shit in my opionion. I wont even pay to see them anymore, they are adding lyrics! WTF! But I am sure if you still like them it will be a blast. I might show up at some of the after parties and maybe a show or two, but I am not going to drop what I am doing in life to tour around all there dates.
    Always around,
    Alex

Shroom I see what you are saying as its the normal complaint for fans who have been into them for a while. I didn't really get into them until last year and I have Dl'd alot of live shows from all throughout their career and I must say that I think they are better right now than ever. To each is own I guess but I think they are just getting better each time they go out. For me this is going to be my first real STS show. I was at a festival they were playing at but got too torn to enjoy and don't remember any of it. Damn xanax. But I don't know of a more psychadeiic friendly show. And about the lyrics, I don't care for it too much either but at least its minimal and only certain tracks.

    Yeah

You are right, some people do like them more now than before. They have just gotten glitchy instead of organicly crunchy, if that makes sense. Hope you all have fun!

00-02 were some pretty exciting times for sts9 tour. They were way more experimental and almost drumnbass influenced. They have change dramatically over the years but i still love them. They are def way tighter as a band now days though. Ive seen 33 (Sts9) shows over the years but haven't been to a single show in the past year and a half. My responsibilities have change a lot and don't allow for such activities any more but Im going to make a point to be at those atlanta shows for sure. I haven't been on mycotopia for awhile, I'm glad to actually see some tribe fans on the site now.

what a shame on 33 times! just kidding, that is a decent amount, i am glad some people still pay to see them, i woulnt pay to see them. i would much rather see other acts, but I got tickets to see them, i said i would sell them, but i may have to give my old favorite and my new almost least favorite a second chance!!!
    Alays around,
    Alex

lyrics and laptop created music...STS9 lost it a few years ago. It's not worth going to a STS9 show anymore with a bunch of smelly pre teen wanna be wooks thinking they are the shit...they smell like shit, so maybe there some truth there, the kids are a bunch of Bisco Discuit Drainbows.

Sorry but I am going for the music. What band that tours like STS9 isn't going to have some bad apples? But who cares. Its about the music. And what you and your friends make out of it. Being that this will be my first show of theirs and I couldn't be more excited. I think they are better as a band now than they have ever been. Seems people that followed for a few years, that dis their new stuff is because they don't like the direction the music is going in. For me, I am getting into their older stuff now, and while I can enjoy it- take a show from 05-06 and today of the same song and tell me that its not put together cleaner and tighter than then. I can hear their progression over the years and it makes me excited for what will come.
Anyways I just wanted to see if anyone else is going to any of these shows. Less than a month.
I just can't think of a more psychedelic friendly show.
For those of you who haven't heard of STS9 here is a clip of them from the "Live as time Changes" DVD. Gives a decent feel of the evironment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB3qIkElaqA

    "...laptop created music"
    Welcome to the future
I can enjoy them for what they were and what they are, a bunch of talented guys doing things in the music world in an original and innovative way. It seems that people are extremely reluctant to accept any form of electronic music but its still music. It can be good and it can be bad. No doubt they are moving into new territory but thats just the way things work. Change is the only constant.

while i must say I care for very few tracks that have lyrics, but the thing I like about them so much is how much they have progressed in a short time. For me I don't know of a band that is as good as they are live. I can't wait for these shows. Def gonna hit up HoB at the beach and if I am lucky ATL.
