| i just went there back in may, when its still kinda tolerable in the day time. once you get down to the bottom though, a 10 mile trek down from the rim, there are trees and turquoise stream and the village. the place does have full time law enforcement provided by the BIA. they are like park rangers and have all the same privaleges. Quote:
if you go dont forget Mooney falls which is about 1/2 mile further and drops 200 ft and i think is even prettier.

| I was there years ago. Not sure about the drugs/alcohol thing cause i was a kid, but its fuckin amazing. The hike is kinda long/hot, but its worth it once you get to the bottom. You can swim in those pools you have pics of. You can climb up the rocks behind the waterfall like 30ft or so, and dive through the waterfall into the pool below. I'd definitely go again. |

| So I have returned from Havasupai and let me tell you after living all over the US and seeing much of what America has to offer, nothing compares. The limestone makes the water this crazy clear aquamarine color. There are a total of 4 major waterfalls ranging in size from 205-90ft. The moss upon the red rocks and huge waterfalls are breathtaking. After hiking 10 miles, one look at the waterfalls and you feel as it was well worth it. Not only that you can cliff dive, tube and rope swing all over the place! The campground is filled with very tall trees that shade from Arizona's brutal sun. We managed to get some spice in and it made for a very spirtual trip. Wish I could post the best pictures but they were all incriminating. If you ever get the chance to go, do it!
