The doctor asked me if I wanted him to give the shot- maybe because he saw that my hands were trembling. His asking me that made me conscious of my hands, and I said, ‘No, I must do this.’
An hour later she gave Huxley a second 100mm. Then she began to talk, bending close to his ear, whispering, ‘light and free you let go, darling; forward and up. You are going forward and up; you are going toward the light. Willingly and consciously you are going, willingly and consciously, and you are doing this beautifully — you are going toward the light — you are going toward a greater love … You are going toward Maria’s [Huxley's first wife, who had died many years earlier] love with my love. You are going toward a greater love than you have ever known. You are going toward the best, the greatest love, and it is easy, it is so easy, and you are doing it so beautifully.’
All struggle ceased. The breathing became slower and slower and slower until, ‘like a piece of music just finishing so gently in sempre piu piano, dolcamente,’ at twenty past five in the afternoon, Aldous Huxley died.”

That story is inspirational especially about how he was going to see his first wife. You could tell she really loved her husband.

Quite interesting.

How much LSD is a mm? Only mm I know of is millimeters, a linear measurement. An injection of even 1 ml of pure LSD seems a bit high.... even for a dying man.

I find this confusing, and wonder about it...

BTW if you all are at all interested in this, Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson is along these same lines and was the most though provoking easy reading book I have ever read. Has little exercises at the end of each chapter that really help nail down what he is saying. I highly suggest it.

Ok, I watched the video- hesitantly, as I certainly did not want to see another elderly person die- I've seen FAR too much of that in the last 20 years (nursing home ministry).

She did say micrograms. I'm sure there is more to the actual dosing than is revealed, as "drawing up" 100 mcg with a syringe would require some very accurate weighing, or a solution diluted to some degree to make a certain volume in a syringe equal a weight of liquid. The caption reading "pure LSD" is somewhat misleading- a carrier solution would be necessary to accurately measure such a small weight without extremely accurate lab scales, plus the volume that would remain in the needle, etc...

Unless you left some air as well- never good.

Which is all besides the point, I DO understand that.

Ive also heard that about dmt.
Its released from our brains during
birth and death.
How people are always seeing family or
angles when there dieing really thats from dmt I guess.
Also Ive heard the same thing about when we are
first falling asleep and waking up those super visual dreams is from dmt.
I dont have any proof but I know ive seen it on the history channel
or Nat Geo something like that. They had a whole documentry.
Im gonna look around see if I can find something something.

Afetr a BRIEF search, this is what I found- basically it is a THEORY put forth by Rick Strassman, author of "DMT- the Spirit Molecule".

He says it is unconfirmed due to ethical concerns.

Several of his test subjects reported NDE-like audio or visual hallucinations. His explanation for this was the possible lack of panic involved in the clinical setting and possible dosage differences between those administered and those encountered in actual NDE cases.

I'm sure there's more, but this likely to be the most definitive answer I could give, as RS is probably the premier authority on the subject.

Alright so I wanted to make the book that changed the way I perceived this world available to all my fellow topians. Gonna make its own thread but thought I should post here.

Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson. Has to do with understanding how the mind works, psychedelics, etc. The most fascinating read I have ever had, and I don't like reading. The only book I have ever read more than once.
