![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bmads big adventure.. Hey guys and gals. yesterday was the day that I got laid off. I am not too worried as I have been planning for this day for quite some time, so I am somewhat prepared.. or atleast I have started to think about being prepared. which is a good idea because I will have to be out by may 1st.... so here goes. I first had to make a choice, do I stay here and dwindle my savings away trying to eek out an existance then when the money ran out( if I was not re employed) panic and then worry. I made the choice to be a bit proactive and a choice that may pay off in the long run. Of course this meant giving up a few of the comforts that I have come to know and enjoy quite a bit... THE COMPUTER IS NOT ONE THAT I AM GIVING UP ![]() First I had to think about getting out of this apartment, I lucked out on that one. While driving to my folks one day I decided to stop out and talk to a farmer that I had known for quite some time, we talked about the impending problem and he made me an awesome offer. Some tennants of his trashed and abondoned a trailer that he rented out in the country. all I had to do was find a place to put it and well clean and fix it. Let me tell you it looked like a free trailer.. UHG!!!! But that would save me almost 10 grand a year in rent. SO I JUMPED AT IT!! Now for the next part. where to put it.. this wasnt as hard as I thought it would be as my folks have a bunch of land and they were more than happy to let me use some of it to put the trailer.. WOO HOO.... NO PROBLEM.. OK.. so there was a problem. no electricity. I didnt have to look far for the answer to this one. Just across the field was a wind farm, just freshly finished and not yet operational. No I didnt plan on getting it from there.. instead I was goin to use a battery bank and a wind generator. I just ordered my wind generator today after searching the internet and watching ton of videos on how to make your own I decided to go with the Hight Output 600W Wind Turbine Hybrid Wind Generator 12v . There is a 4 week lead time on it so I should have it just about the time I move in. Until the generator gets here the lights will be handled by severl sets of outdoor solar spot lights, kerosene lamps and candles. Another luck out for me. I just spotted a flyer for a 1500 gallon poly water tank. This will come in handy when ole Bmad decides he wants to not stink any more. well I am off to my "palace for another round of wondering what the hell I have gotten myself into.. so until next time have a great day I have included some pics of what it looked like when I found it and what it is looking like as of last night. Please keep in mind I am not handy man and I have only been workin on it for week. oh and the running total cost of everything including the lights, wind generator, paint and flooring is now just at 900 dollars.. not to bad for an almost livable quaters that wont cost me anything in rent of utilities in the future. The next installment should be me trying to kill myself while putting up the generator ![]() Hope you all like it Bmad

here is the finished kitchen except for the faucet and the finished living room with some furniture in it, also is a pic of the small dining area. Almost everything in the trailer is recycled, free, or bought at a HEAVY discount. So I am still doing very well on money. I also still need to order my water pump and heater so having money is a plus . We still have two weeks before we have to move so I figure we are way ahead of schedule. also we have placed an order with the local hatchery for some chickens so I have to start on the coups soon. YAY! Our wind generator came which I will start the erecting process today. it is alot heavier than I could have imagined , and the place sent me the wrong one causing me to have to do a bit of welding on it first, so I stopped by my old shop and tried my best not to burn the hell out of myself in the process .I will be building the battery bank to trailer, six batteries that were aquired through a friend of mine in the trucking industry, THANKS BIGMIKE!!! Untill I am sure I can afford to buy the sun mar composting toilet I want, I am going to build what has been called a loveable leu.(sp) Basically it is a box with a bucket that is vented and uses sawdust to help composition and keep down the smell.. I WILL BE VENTING THIS PRETTY WELL! strange enough Deb went along with it..... I dont give her enough credit I guess ![]() I have time to get my stove and housing built but I am having carpal tunnel surgery in a few weeks so I need to get on it. Again all the material for this is recycled from tin shed that I dismantled and removed for a farmer. well except for the insulation but that is no biggie I still havent gotten my garden in either..so that is something else I need to get on. well hope you enjoy the pictures.. and hopefully friday I will have pics of the bank all put together wired and the generator... generating ![]() thanks for reading

hey guys and gals I just thought I would post an update and let you know how all is goin and post some pics of what I have done since my last picture show. Like I said I have gotten the wind generator up and it is enjoying the 20 mile an hour winds that have been blowing through the area. I also have my batteries hooked up and the control panel mounted in a place that I can keep a good eye on it on a daily basis. While trying to mount the control panel I got in a hurry because I was heading in to eat some of my bday cake that deb had just brought home.. well I got impatient jerked on a piece of sheet metal and fucked my thumb up pretty goodly. I am gonna post a pic of the cake because I think deb did a pretty cool job with it. dont pay attention to the name on it.. it is not my real name but my nickname .. but that is still me oh those are little mushrooms on it if you cant make them out.hope you enjoy the pics.. oh the thumb pic is a bit brutal.. not too terrible but if you really have a light tummy you may not want to peak, and that is a stitch right through the nail bed if you cant make it out.. that is pleasant to think about huh ![]() well thanks for checkin out the update.. and not many more to go other than the solar panels.... water .. and heat. but I gotta be moved in ten days.. so wish me luck
