I've never worked with a microcontroller before, and after seeing all of these Arduino based projects all over the web, I totally want one. I do not have the cash for an Arduino board right now, unfortunately. I do have 2 $50 Best Buy gift cards, and no real desire to buy anything at their store. I would be super interested in a trade, but I really do not want to get ripped off. So say you have an Arduino board...a Duemilanove. They sell in the Maker store for $35. You ship that to me, I'll send you the $50 giftcard. Or maybe you have a few accessories that work with the board, the total value of everything being like $70. As long as it is all stuff I want, and you pay shipping, I'd give you both of the $50 giftcards. I'm really not interested in getting raped though. Don't tell me you have $53 worth of board and accessories and expect me to give you $100 in giftcards. The trade should be fair, with you benefiting a little more off it than me. Anyways, I know I am taking a risk asking for an electronic device on the board...you could always send me a chip that you fried and it doesn't work. I'm just really hoping someone on the board that is honest and has a spare board wants to work. I'd also be willing to work something out where you order the board for me and I'll send the gift certificates when the board arrives, or you send cash (I'm thinking $75) and I'll give you the $100 in Best Buy cards. Think of it as your chance to help out another topiate...and if you were planning to be making a purchase from Best Buy in the next few weeks anyways, it works out for you. I appreciate your time, and hopefully we can work something out! |

I just got one of those (a starter pack) and it is pretty fun. I really need to spend some more time with it and I want to get a servo and/or stepper to play with. I don't know what I want to do with it...but that's the amazing thing, you can do just about anything. I'm thinking about a really cool music box type of thing. I've been going through some of this stuff: http://www.ladyada.net/learn/arduino/ Anyway....it really does work. I know nothing about electronics (although I do know how to program). I've always wanted to learn and these projects are helping a lot and fun. (How about that alarm clock kit they have? When I used to use an alarm clock I always wished I could program my own snooze schedule and stuff. I'd be so cool if all electronics were open source and you could alter them to your liking.) |
