![]() | A little Peyote seed growlog In this little tread I'm gonne show how I grow my Peyote seeds... the things I used are.. - 20 Peyote seeds - a small tray - Heating mat - Grow Lux lighting bulb - Timer - Box - and for mixture 33 % sand,33% Vermiculiet and 33% Perlite The sand, verm.,perlite and a little water were mixed and 'sterilized' in the microwave for 10 minutes. (picture 1) After that the seeds (picture 2) were layed on top of it,and covered with wet vermiculiet (picture 4) Then I covered the tray with plastic foil,..so it's airtight ! (picture 5) It's now on the heating mat in the wooden box, that I painted white on the inside. (last picture) Timer is set on 14 hours of light a day. The first couple of days the temperature inside the box will be 28 oC..later the temp will be droped to 24 oC. Will update as soon as I see some growth !

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I find 6 days is normally the starting point where they begin to germ. This is with both lophs and trichos. I am thinking you may need some nutes without any soil present in your mix. A very weak mix of peters or miracle grow after a couple of months wouldnt hurt.

![]() | Every seed has it's own sourche of nutes to get him going thru the first week or months, even these tiny seeds. It's best to keep them in the first tray.. the first couple of month ,till they have grown stronger... After that you can transplant them to clay pots with a better soil.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You are looking at a year at the least to xplant them. I grow my seeds on an inert material, but after a couple of months i throw them some food. They seem to really respond to it. I agree they will live without food, but you may find an organic alternative that blows your hair back.

![]() | Nice Spacecake, I use small containers as well, half filled with coarse sharp sand. The sand is moistened with an all-purpose liquid fert at 1/4 strength then nuked in the microwave for a few min. Once cooled, seeds are planted and misted with fungicide, lids put in place and put on a heat mat under a flouro where they will live undisturbed for the first few months of their lives ![]()

![]() | Today I went to take a look at the tray, and discovered that a couple seeds have germinated..! I counted five of them, and they look good so far... (see pics) There is only a strange dark area in the tray, that could be some kind of mold..(mid-top of the picture 1) or someting else..don't know yet (picture doesn't show it well) Here some pics...! ![]()

![]() | So..took some pictures today of those little seedlings... There are now 14 little peyotes germinated,..and if you look closely ,one (seed)row in the middle didn't germinate, and I think those seeds are burned...it had gotten too hot, the first three days in the tray,so I gues the middle part was the hottest place in the tray !? Well here are the pics again... ![]() ![]()

| Rock on! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've made a couple attempts at growing but haven't had much success. With your help, I can do this now. I just happen to have the 3 ingredients for the soil just lying around the house. I will definitly try this tek. Thanks, Spacecake! |

| I wanted to thank you once again, Spacecake. I made a tray with 3 rows of 7 seeds with the mix you suggested. Exactly 7 days later, I saw a sign of life. It's now been 10 days and I count 4 growing. Thank you very much! This was the mix I was looking for. |

Now watch them closely ! Make sure they get the perfect lighting and moister etc.. If they get to tall, then they need more light,if they start to turn dark..then they got to much of it ! Good luck !

![]() | Nice job Spacecake Nice pics also, and nice setup Hailey. How much verm did you put on them would you say? I was thinking when you said you placed them on a heatmat, do those have cords which generate the heat? If so maybe the one row that didnt come up was on top of one of the cords.. Keep us posted on the lil guys growth and how they are doing.
