testing out the kratom

hello friends.... haven't posted in awhile, just started researching this plant - Mitragyna speciosa - due to someone's mention of it in a thread, can't remember who what when or where right now - just was wondering if anyone has dealt with it (which i'm sure at least one person has) - - - was wondering what grade would be sufficient and what price range i should be looking for, i don't want to get ripped off because the prices seem to vary through the research i have done. i was intrigued by the proclaimed opiate-like buzz - not a big opiate user - but a fan nonetheless. any help would be appreciated - thanks in advance - and rock on!

From what Ive read, Kratom sold by the vendors comes from the same place/distributer. If you choose a reliable vendor you will be fine. I dont know the difference between the super, super premium etc. I suggest going middle of the road. Also I have found capping the kratom powder and eating it via the gelcaps just as effective as making that nasty mixture of powder and hot water. They say hot liquid potentiates the kratom.....maybe.

You will be suprised with kratom....its one of the few legal highs that work as advertised. Lower doses seem to speed me up, but the higher doses are much like an opiate buzz. As far as dosage goes, that is something I believe each individual should work out for themselves, due to all the super and premium labels. I used a heaping teaspoon to start with.

I mixed it with hot water, and it doesn't taste all that bad to me... but i didn't really feel anything any of the times i took it....

Its not so much the taste as it is trying to down the powder/water mixture. The powder floats on top of the water and I had to drink 5 or 6 cups of warm water to get it all down. The gel caps worked just as well for me with alot less bother. Before I tried the gelcaps, I would put a heaping tspn of the powder on the back of my tongue then chase it with hot water. This seemed easier than the powder in the water mess.

thanks for all the info guys! just got one more quick question - how far does the commercial grade go, as in what is a normal dose for those of you who have experienced it. i'm thinking of ordering 30 grams and i'm wondering how long it will actually last. is it worth it to get the premium stuff or should i go for quantity? thanks for your help!

i took an oz of leaves,boiled them for a few minutes,strained plant matter and place plant matter back in fresh water and brought it back to a boil for another few min,strained and then slow cooked the all the water off til it was a gummy tar left.i then allowed this to sit til hard as a rock.i then took it and turned it to powder in my trusty coffee grinder and placed in gel caps.i found that 2.5 grams is a good,medium dose(i dont take many opiates so i aimed low).

kratom makes me feel high,then low,then i puked and feel like crap.it is an aquired taste that i havent aquired yet.

i say save your money and go buy some p.pods on ebay.why settle for less when you can still get the good stuff?

the commercial grade kratom IMO got the best bang for your buck!
my fav way to take kratom is to grind it to a fine powder in my coffee grinder/blender.. then make up some hot tea.. take a spoon of kratom in the mouth and wash it down with tea :!!!!
IMHO making tea out of kratom isn't nearly as potent as eating the leaf whole.....also, lately ive been mixing a small dose of kratom with poppy seed tea.. yes .. poppy seeds from the grocery store... if your lucky u can find them in bulk ... i take about 8 oz of seeds and mix them in COLD water for about 30 minutes..strain them out with a sock and blast off for a good 8 hours.. u can wash the seeds 2 or 3 times and get a decent dose each round...carefull cus its easy to OD on them and end up puking all night.. they take a good hour or 2 to kick in.. thanks again for all the info. it seems through all the research i have done, and reading your posts, that it is either a love or hate relationship with this plant. hopefully i will be on the lucky side of the coin. and as for ordering poppy pods, i've thought about it before, but i read enough on this site and others about tea addicts that i've decided not to (at least for now). i just ordered 20 grams so hopefully i'll get a few good doses when i figure out how strong it actually is and i'll let you guys know how it goes. -do not desist the rocking-

i've gone thru a hundred or so pods and im not hooked.that shit taste so bad i cant see how anyone would want to do it over and over.but a quick IPA extraction will give you plenty of nice,black tar to put in ur pipe.ahhhh.

I like to put the ground up commercial grade leaf into "00" capsules - five gives me a nice high. Great stuff - get it while you can, it's only a matter of time till it's illegal. Just too good to stay off the fed's radar IMO.

i've tried this product many times...and if you
like opiates then you will love kratom...i personally

Yeah, it'll cure your opium habit for sure.
But then, of course, you'll have a Kratom habit like me
I find kratom to be an EXTREMELY acceptable alternative
to popping painkillers (or worse).
The only downside, beyond being addicted to a substance that I
can't (yet) easily grow in the backyard, is that I have to take some
about every 3-5 hours, depending on my food intake and how "OK" I
want to feel.
It's a lot better than taking antidepressants though, IMO, as it really
works. But just like an antidepressant, if you stop taking it you'll feel like
shit. I've come off the Kratom a few times (obviously not permanently)
and it was MUCH easier than coming off of any opiate based med.
There are any number of internet sources out there, many claim to be
"the real source," but quality and product varies within vendors and it's
a crap shoot either way. I buy from a number of sites and they've all sent
me garbage at one time or another. I buy the commercial leaf (cheapest)
and I grind it up in a coffee grinder. Sometimes I'll put it into capsules,
especially if I'm going public for hours on end, as no one really looks at you
like you're weird if you take 4-5 "0" caps of an herbal pill (I say it's echinacea,
or however you spell that shit).

Otherwise I just snarf the powder straight. I fold a peice of paper (business
cards work great) in half, dump some on there, and tilt it back the 'ol gullet.
Tastes like shit, but once you get good at it, you don't get any on you palate.
The extracts are truly wonderful, but not economical if you plan on using it
to manage .... well, whatever the hell it is that you want to manage with a
psychoactive substance.. depression, pain, the pain of depression, addiction,
modern life, a shitty job, no job, a shitty relationship, no relationship, etc...
I but it by the kilo - it's like getting a small pillow full of Kratom in the mail
I pay anywhere from $150 - $200 a kilo, and I find it's money well spent.
It lasts me anywhere from 2-4 months, depending on how not-depressed
or addicted I want to feel, and how much I share with friends (my friends are
all fiends for Kratom).
It gives great energy - super for a workout, but I've also pushed myself too
far while on it and hurt myself badly enough that I had to stop working out
for four months due to muscle injury. I also crave cigarettes when I take it,
which sucks, as I quit four years ago and now I'm slipping back into the habit.
Great together with mary jane, and an INCREDIBLE adjunct to shrooms...
I get NO nausea w/ kratom and shrooms and it really kicks it in sweet.
Well, that's all I've got for now. Good to be back (been out for several months)
hopefully I'll be able to pop in a bit more here and there

Just recieved a couple o Kratom seed pods and an OZ of superpowder..

So i'm trying 5 grams in hot apple cider ,The taste is hard to mask -a bit acrid like chewing an asprin...

The seeds shown below are tiny ,,The un-opened pod is on the left...
My plan is to germinate these seeds on the surface of a very fine textured soil-less starting mix... then transplant....Any tips are appreciated...

Ok i'm beginning to feel kinda mellow with a bit of numness in me mouth like with Kava...

I tried the 250x extract kind first - a 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon
mixed in any liquid - it's like 3 coffees and 3 beers at the same
time. Take it early in the day, it is anti-depressive - euphoric -
but mild too. Don't take at night - can cause insomnia. I like it,
but strong beer gives me the same buzz at 1/10 the price..

Many on kratom forums have said that you can loose some of the goodies by making tea, I always ate it mixed in with applesauce. It is the best way.

Don't take too much, or you will be vomiting like crazy. lol, not too unpleasant, but not fun by any strech.

The only way I take Kratom is straight powder...

Put it on a business card (or some sized peice of paper) folded in half,
tip in about a tablespoon of powder, pour it on the back of the tongue,
chase w/ water.

Applesauce and Kratom sounds like a punishment to me !

If powder mouth doesn't do it for you, I'd invest $15 in a pill machine and

Well the 5 gram dose was a bit stronger than i imagined ..Felt really good going up -like a darvon/coca mix- all tingly...The peak at 90mins ,i felt really too groggy ..after 3 hrs it became nice again ..I can still feel some effect now which is 18 hrs later ....
Planted those seeds - will post on their progress....

As allready said, Kratom, is IMO one of the best
legal drugs.

It worked well for me
I purchased super kratom and
mixed 2 grams with water

It was easy for me to get down
not bad tasting at all, just a lil chalky

I dont recall the exact price
but it was cheap

Go with a good vendor and you will have no problems.

i really like the extract. 1.9-2.5 grams in a little cold water then swallow. works like a charm but the flavor really doesnt bother me.

Well i could not get the Kratom seeds to germinate..I tried three different methods so they were proly too old...Apparently they are only viable for a few weeks from harvest ..So i will try another vendor...
I have really enjoyed the herb itself and have tried many different methods to minimize that gagging flavour...
For the best effect, i like the hot tea - as it numbs your your head B4 the main effect comes on...The tea flavour is a real challenge though...
The easiest way to get a load down , is to make a paste in a small cup with cold juice or milk, then add just enough more juice to make it runny ..So then it's quick and painless to chug it down...
U def build up a tollerance to frequent dosing , best to use like a weekend type buzz for full appreciation...If taken in the evening it can cause some very intense dreaming when u do get to sleep...
I have had no unwanted side effects from this unique plant ..I love the way it takes u up and down at the same time...

i have enjoyed kratom tea several times. i will gelcap from now on, ingesting the leaves seems like the best method.

i also nibbled on a dropped leaf from this small kratom plant, but it was dry. it would be interesting to chew a few fresh leafs some day.

What always works nicely is to buy one of those flavoured yoghurt drinks and just mix it in well. It's actually a nice resulting taste.

Well, the 10x I got was pretty much bunk. It staved off the desire for more kratom, but didn't do much of shit for a fresh day dose.

Vendor said he'd replace with another product, as it's "not a good batch." This is disappointing, as the whole point of the extract is the "guaranteed" analysis.

Fuck.

I was hoping to make a bulk order of extract and capsule it up, but now I'm worried that if I invest in a bulk purchase, I'll get stuck with a giant load of crap. I feel like Huey Louis.
