![]() ![]() ![]() | Outdoor patches Here's me Saturday morning post,, Nothing real special but keeps me entertained ..heh First pic is a small bottomless dish with some Cubs just now pinning..They are growing on top of the much larger Caerulipes bed, which proly wont flush again till Spring.. The second pic is a flush of Pan cyan "sandoze" which are growing very rapidly in the Summer heat..It's been in the 90's ..This is my second outdoor Pan grow and find them to be much easier than growing indoors. As long as it's warm n' well protected ,they do pretty well..These are also on top of a Caerulipes bed that was made entirely from stembutts.. The final pic is of some Pedro cuttings from Bouncing Bear. They were planted 3 months ago in ordinary garden soil mixed with perlite for good drainage .. I think they're doing very well so far..Will pot em up in the fall... So that's what's happening in Golly's Garden.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, i think once the night time temps drop into the 40s - they should be potted up for overwintering..I hear that they can withstand light frost but will still get their tips burned...Low temps so far have ranged from mid 50s-80F.. thanx.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | ThanQ.. ![]() The Fl Pans were whole rice/RGS spawn, mixed 1:2 with pasteurized H poo. After 2 days the patch was cased with shredded mulch and misted with a hose. 5 days from casing - the pins appeared... The patch is in a shady spot and fully enclosed with landscape cloth on the bottom and wire mesh on top ...Keeps the critters out... Looks like this pic from last year... |

![]() | properly speaking pans are a species - not a strain although there are a few strains of pans. this one is the sandoze, also there is cambo, goliath, vietnamese- to name a few.

but MOST people here know better, they look nothing alike. but both do share one feature, they both contain mescaline. san pedro is legal, peyote is not.

![]() ![]() ![]() | The Suntops are ready to print finally..Wasn't really shure what strain but they are proly SA...Some nice 3 inch caps.. The Pedro's are funky in spots because of the way they were cut b4 shipping to me..Ideally the cut should be more of a pyramid shape to counter the shrinkage in in the center as it dries...[thats what i read anyway.] thnx again... |

![]() ![]() ![]() | It's near time to dig up the Pedro patch.. From May to October, these non rooted cuttings grew 2-5 inches .. I want to harvest the flat topped cuttings for "entertainment" and save the rest for propagation next year.. So my question is; If i leave about 3 ins with the root -will that be enough for regeneration..? Also ,the smaller buds ,i plan to break off - should they be replanted now or just keep em in a cool dry dark place till next spring..? |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Thought i would revive this thread, as it's now the second season for replanting Pedro.. I did give a couple of cuttings away but you can see that the patch has expanded from last summer.. Cactus growth is reported to be more rapid when transfered to the garden bed. Once again i mixed in a fair amount of perlite to improve drainage..Also added Bone meal and other dry organic ferts... The soil is still warming, so i'm going to wait b4 spreading mulch.. |
