Spore Printing Jars

I found these nice metal jars with glass window and holes for air exchange.

Thought they looked great for making spore prints and for making spore syringes.

I've seen those at CostPlus World Market, they're probably available in most kitchen/bath places. I think they're supposed to be for spices... do they have magnets on the bottom? For sticking on stainless steel fridges for easy access.

I Shall call them Prism Jars!

yeah, they are spice jars. i am not sure of sterility though. cool looking but why not use regular half pints?

Place cap in jar cleaned with alky

Drop in cap with spores

wait...

remove cap

air out jar and dry print with lil hole in side

add sterilized water from syringe

remove spore sollution

you can get them on ebay, some times as cheap as $.60 in lots, they do work great for spices...

I have those in my kitchen for spices

the glass is realy plastic

the holes in the side? a contam problem waiting to happen

all in all.............use something else, Im thinking these will let ya down
