![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Postage trading tips
I'd like to lay out a few helpful hints for those who haven't used the mail service much before. Please feel free to add to the list to help save others time and resources. 1) Get your postage right ! A simple visit to the post office, may prevent your recipient out of a visit from quarantine. Make sure the postage is accurate, with just the right amount of postage stamps. 2) Have international, and local stamps handy Telling people when to expect their prints, can often be an important part of the process. Following through on said action, builds trust and rapport and having envelopes handy can really help you follow through on your best intentions. Late or unexpected deliveries can be problematic. 3) Write the address neatly Using some kind of barely legible code, scrawled in obsurely coloured crayon or pencil will not help anyones cause. A neatly, hand addressed package devoid of a return address, or with a simple name is often best. 4) Invest in some cardboard. A sheet of card, or some thick magazines lying around will provide for many easy trades. The right piece of card or thick magazine paper will protect the contents, make the envelope harder to 'see' through if held to the light, and may even bring a smile to a fellow topiates face. (if you've chosen the right magazine ![]() 5) Avoid sending surprise packages "Why is the envelope addressed to your dog, sweetheart.. let me see whats in here.." Let thy gifts be known. 6) Label your goodies.. (somehow) Some may like to make the contents of whatever gift or trade, known through pm. Others may use an abbreviation, or 1-2 letters that make it obvious which bit is which. |
