Thats what I have them at right now. I was expecting bluish grey pins, but got off white kinda yellow ones. Then as they developed they just got darker yellow.

Here are some that just cropped out overnight from a different 1/2 pint jar, plus update of the ones already posted...kinda let them over mature.

You can do with out the poo, they are wood lovers not poop eaters like portabellas, buttons, n cubies.

I tried the blender method to take a clone of the butt-stem of some oysters I bought recently.Made some thick syringes and innoculated... but I used a composetd straw with poo composted in it and clean straw mixed. Some the same but with sawdust and others with shredded newpaper...

I hope some of that mycelium takes off.

    Thanks Again

nice! back up a little bit from the cluster and it will be better in focus. sometimes, without a macro lens, you can't get too close or it won't focus properly.

    Arrow Update of 2nd cluster

These golden oysters are heavy spore depositors, the first cluster drop so many white spores that the don't even look yellow any more.

Here is also a pic of the 2nd cluster at maturity followed by the first cluster with the heavy spore deposit on the caps. Sorry for the poor resolution...all I have is a cheap camera phone for taking digi pics.

Not sure how to collect a spore print as they are dropping spores while they grow, even RWM mentioned that collecting a good Oyster spore print is kinda hard, but I will try. I let the first cluster over mature and they started to turn white, but when I picked them today I noticed that the white was because of the the spore drop. Even more interesting is that the spore drop floated to the top of the top cluster caps, kinda like the Reishi spores do. Currently have that cluster drying out at room temps.

2nd cluster I pick to show off before they over matured and dropped spores. Hope to have more, going to dunk them while still in the jar.

Almost, cakes were original intended to get crumbled up and used as a follow up to Lazlos thread on recycling newspaper. However, I let them over grow in the jar so they could not be used properly for spawn. Only variation from the PF Tek was the use of an un-supplemented dry oak sawdust contamination barrier vs the Teks use of a vermiculite contamination barrier. Cool part is that they are the yellow ones, because I originally thought I had inoculated with the grey P.ostreatus strain.
