    Putting cakes "on ice" in Refrigerator
    My Foaf went on Vacation for 11 days last month and had a few projects going....after looking through the vaults and getting some sound advice from one of the mods here he decided to put the cakes and casings in air tight sealed containers and refrigerate them.....after returning from vacation and dunking for approx 12 hrs and putting back in the fruting environment a 3rd flush began in about a week.

    The curious thing was that the cakes mostly started to pin at different times instead of all at the same time like in the second flush prior to refrigeration.

    I was wondering why. anyone know?

    The strain is SA and here are a few pics of the 3rd flushes.

    The refrigerator works pretty good for stalling cakes

    Can't answer the Q...except to say -they pin when ever they bloody well feel like it...lol...
