Hello again, wonderfull citizens of mycotopia. I bring you a rather exctencive photo collection of this weekends maturing trays. All multispore, spawned in PF tek with whole grain, then spawned to 50:50 straw:H. doo. Pinset is the only thing FOAF was dissapointed with, but i guess this has to do with the fact that its multispore. How ever what i dont understand is, surface was covered in knots, and later on primordia, but only like 40% reached maturity. Dont really understand why, maybe someone can advise. Otherwise its all good, first equador grow, really digging the little nipples these have

i would guess the proximate cause to be
lack of adequate water to finish the flush thru.
it's fairly common, esp. when initial pinset is strong.

Ill have to pay even more attention to sub water content in the future, the weird thing is i was already paying a looot of atention to it. Injecting many many syringes of water once pins started swelling up, as this is when most moisture is withdrawn by the swelling mushrooms, however sooo many pins just didnt fatten up, they however didnt abbort either, or atleast not in the normall abortion sence. Iam used to seeing that blue ring around the rim of the cap, if they are to abort, but these looked fine and healthy but yet same effect. Iam glad to have the side pining problem out of the picture Ill be back with second flushes i hope.

So short comeback The GT tray finished of by this morning, infact it was pretty much done last night, FOAF was just to tired to deal with it. So they over matured a´bit, atleast according to my taste. Nice flush though, i was a bit worried cus they didnt seem to pack on any weight, but they finished of pretty well, the tray yielded 298.4 grams wet, first flush. MycoPorn

I see this happen all the time, seems to be just a normal occurance.

There has to be something which is a deciding factor with forming pins. If you take a look at FOAFS first grow ever, you will se a simply amazing pinset, FOAF cant even get close to the same results again. What was done differently?? That tray with the amazing pinset was misted several times a day even during pinset and maturing. Now this according to many is something best avoided as the water particles regardless of size damage pins, causing abortion. However the total yield and quantity of mature mushrooms was far greater when misted. FOAf will conduct an experiment, two trays, identical, one sprayed and one injected and see results, hopefully usefull results.

Hello good people.

The trays shown in this thread, are for some reason not pinning again, regardless of injecting with lots of water, doesnt seem that they contammed at all or anything, they just wont throw off any pins, except for a few the size of a matchstick. So iam guessing i will have to dunk? And that will hopefully get them going again. Any advise?

I thought of that but ive never dunked before so i wanna try that and plus the bleach dunk will get rid of any nasties on the outside. Do you guys normall recase thinly after dunk? Or just let it be?

Thank you all for your comments. The GT tray has been dunked, and thinly recased, FOAFS first bleach dunk try, hopes are high Anyhow here is the second fluch of the EQ tray, its been spitting out random mushrooms of small size for a few days, so FOAF started misting and the sub threw of these three boomers

Back with another tray of EQ, i understand why so many consider them their favs. Great looking mushrooms, they have an even greater effect eNJOy
