![]() | EQ Casing/First attempt So this is my first post and also a friends first attempt at casing,or any mycology for that matter. It consists of, 60/40 straw/horse poo, and 2-1qt. jars of colonized WBS in a foil roasting pan.The casing is 70/30 verm./coir.The h-poo/straw and spawn were put into the pan on 5-25-07. It was then cased on 5-29-07. The first signs of pins were seen on 6-6-07. But these are the first pics I was able to get. Taken on 6-9-07. The aerial view pic shows the newest casing, he just found pins this morning. He also would like to ask, what could, or should, he have done to avoid the bigger casing from drying out a little? And what effects might this have on the casing? Any and all comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would also be happy to answer any questions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks, abbr. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome to the Forum abbr...! That's a very nice looking tray...Really, the main two things u can do to maintain moisture in a fully colo'd casing layer - is to sprinkle a very thin layer of verm and keep misting..Keep the RH 80-90% Smaller trays can be dunked after the first flush ,larger subs can be re-cased or flooded, then drained well..I prefer re-casing for round two.. Anyhoo -great job Man... ![]() |
