    oak ridge

Here are some pics my foaf sent me from thier first grow. The tray is just pcorn cased in straight coir.

the only pins they have are coming from where the casing meets the sub. can see them through the side of the tray. know theyre there mostly cause theyre being exposed to light, but why arent there any pins on the top of the casing? could it be low humidity? please help here.

the outer box has a few little pinholes in the top to help fae so it may be losing humidity that way????

Looking good however that tray is very very overlaid, the pinset wont be as strong as it could if the surface was cased with a verm/coir 70/30% ratio. Furthermore in the second picture do i see correctly that the tray is in a tub with coir or peat for humidity rasing? If so i would honestly getrid of the peat or coir as they will mold up after some time leading to contamination problems. Use perlite if you want to use anything imo simple misting of the walls is sufficiant.

    G-luck

When fruiting you actually want the humity to drop a bit and increase the FAE.
Givem a few more days.. they will pop up
    Looking good and rhizzy

ok so the fruits are small with dense stems. the caps are about quarter sized and none of em are sporeulating. got about 20g wet on first flush.

good. looking good. try to tape the tray next time or use a non transparent tray. heres the thing though, did you see mushroom johns link to the amsterdam grow store. they would fruit from the top casing layer and from the bottom side of the substrate. so they almost treated everything like a giant 3 dimensional fruiting substrate. if it were me, id flip that thing upside down on a metal or plastic rack and allow it to grow from all sides.
you could then put it back in the tray post harvest. then dunk the entire substrate. what has been working really well for me though is this. ive been using a sink spray hose between flushes blasting the casing layer directly. this works similar to scratching the surface of your casing layer. as well as rehydrating it. maybe if it doesn't fruit the way you want it to, try that. there are tons of ways to do it, but that is what i would do.

They may grow better on poo mixed with something like coir or straw.

the size of those fruits is NOT the strains fault, it's the very shallow small substrate you have.
