It's raining very hard today,so I just harvested the biggest shroom,to see how big/heavy it is... When you cut the cap in pieces, you can clearly see, that the whole cap has the same color all the way thru ! Looks somewhat like a candybar.... ![]() ![]()

..Just two more pics I took today... The whole patch is getting very big ! I'm going on vacation next week..,so I started harvesting the biggest shrooms, for printing and drying. I think I'm gonne dry them, grind them.. ,and store them in airtight bag in the freezer. I dont have the space to store them without grounding them up first ! This is going to be a huge harvest ! ![]() ![]()

If you have room in the freezer, I'd freeze some fresh. Azures lose about half their potency dried. | |

Don't want to hijack the thread but I have a question about my first azure grow. I have 2 fully colonized mycobags and was wondering what my best option would be to fruit them. Invito? Transfer to bulk sub and wait? Or empty bags to a tub, case and set outdoors? Any advice would help as this is my first try at woodlovers and only my fourth grow ever. I have access to straw, alder, aspen and hickory chips and sawdust. Right now the outdoor temps are perfect with highs around 65 F and lows around 38 F.

You are probably to late for fruiting, but it can't hurt to give it a change... The best change of getting fruits is to keep them outside, invitro doesn't work very well. Mix your substrate like I did in my first couple of post...,it's very easy.

Sweet looking crop Space..If it were me i would dry, then grind 'em up finely and mix into hot honey ..Like with TV's recipe ..Freeze in half pint jars..I think u can get 50g per jar..They keep very well.. Try some honey extract too - good stuff.. The thing i've heard with azures, is they have a relatively high psilocin content which is more easily oxidized, so sealing out the oxygen with honey may be of even more benefit with this specie... |

Btw I don't believe ( ) they lose half the potency, because I've eaten .8 grams (dry) of Azures in the past that blew my mind...But I will experiment on that this weekend !

If you rapid dry them where there is no bluing ,then proly most of the psilocin is still intact...The loss is gradual but steady when in contact with air.. Heated honey mixes much better and excludes more air with less liquid..U don't have to boil it , just hot.. Using fresh mushrooms with honey for storage is not safe imo.. I also mix in a little Ascorbic acid with the honey to lower Ph + anti-oxidant effects.. |

Haven't had a drop of rain for months... Never been so dry as it is ,this year. Maybe it's going to rain this weekend, but that's still far away. Probably see some pins in two or three weeks or so.

Finally..the Azures are popping up all over the place... Most shrooms are still to short to be visible on a picture, but I took some shots of the ones that were a little bigger. I hope this will be as big as the flush I got last year...! ![]()

After I saw this I went out and checked my Azures. My heart almost stopped when I saw some pins , but then I realized they were dark orange berries from the mountain ash tree I had made the bed under ! Doh ...
