This is my buddy Kermit the toad (think he's a toad). He comes up on the deck to eat a bunch of bugs at night. I try and kill or stun moths that are flying next to the light and feed him. He's so good, just sits there and poses for the camera. I tried to get some pictures of the bats that fly in my yard at night and was going to upload a picture of them to the "Dark Night" thread, but it's really hard to get a picture of a bat. I think my camera must suck, because these pictures should have come out better. It was dark but still. It's a HP Photosmart 6.2 megapixels. I'm getting a little frustrated with the lack of quality it puts out. Who knows, maybe it's not the camera, maybe it's the operator.

Caught one these in the lens after a long hiatus. Droughts are likely to be caused by phenomena of nature as they are from a thirst from within the soul. Only the wise can tell the difference. When I saw this vision, I experienced a joyful feeling. It made me realize that every day I wake up taking that first breath starts a day in which I write my life with a clean slate, the beginning of a clean experience. That's the beauty part... Peace

My family and I went to the upper, lower peninsula and the upper peninsula of Michigan. Got a few good shots in and thought Id share them with everyone. The pic that looks like a white dot is Jupiter through our telescope if you look really close to the left of the Planet you can see three of its moons, the fourth didnt show up in the pic. The last pic is what I came home to, 9 of these EQ monsters in my tub.

These are just leisure photographs that I've done. The little baby in my fourth picture is my second cousin Emma...let me tell you, she's a hard subject to photograph! But I finally got a good one! The little girl in the last 3 photos is my second cousin Heidi. She is a beautiful little girl that is easy to photograph. The first two photos I took on our farm at my parent's house. They turned out splendidly I like to believe. Only one has been altered off of the camera. Just used a negative effect on the slide picture to make it look a little bit cooler. Let me know what you think! |

I cannot believe I did not see this thread any sooner... I love photography and personally have an emphasis on Infrared Photography. I use a Fuji FinePix that has been modified to allow in the IR spectrum along with a 820nm IR filter. Here's a few of the photographs I have taken in IR. They've been no further modified other than resizing. ![]() ![]()

Here are a few shots I took over the summer and fall. I'm starting to really get into photographing nature, its so much fun! enjoy If anyone is curious I'm using a Canon Powershot S5. I know its not top-of-the-line but I think my pictures should look better (operator error most likely). lemme know what you think |

Received a Nikon D50 in like-new condition this week. Kit lens is an 18-55, which will be sweet closed down for landscapes this spring, but god it's a dog for indoor shots. Today I picked up a 50mm f1.8, and am in love. i found that at 1.8, in low-ligh, AF sucks. But manual focus is a dream on it. Next week I may pick up a new flash, but I need to research first. The room in this shot had a little corner lamp lit, nothing else. No flash. A tripod would make this thing really purr.

Playing with a Hoya R72 Infrared filter. Visible light stops at about 700nanometers. This blocks everything up to 720 nanometers. I'm just learning to do this on a modified D50 and it's not easy. Long exposure times to say the least... Lots of post processing work. This is the first one I brought into Photoshop. It contains a normal color photo layer for this specific effect. ![]() This shot was just an IR monochrome conversion. Strictly non-visible light ![]()

Picked up a new flash today, SB600. It's a nice addition for this kind of shooting, and will be amazing in a week when I get an off-body flash cable.

Limited on space, but come spring I'll have more office space and intend on building a dark room (Double as a clean room for mycology) and learning film. I love digital, but I think having a film body around for some BW work would be great.

Totally. There is just something magic about film. Psoulocybe- Do the darkroom thing! It's a lot of fun. I've got a darkroom, but it's mostly used for shooting holograms these days. As soon as I can figure out a good way to photograph a few, I'll post them.

Spent a couple hours today working with center focused images outside ![]() ![]() Made this print yesterday... It's a grouping of 10 or so exposures layered and hand colored. I spent a couple hours at an Andy Warhol exhibit today and it made me remember this shot and develop a whole new love for it.

Wow! Some fantastic photos in this thread. Love the macro of the mushrooms, as well as the beer mug. Here are a couple of mine, one taken in India and one taken in the Valley of the Gods in Utah. ![]()
