    1st Time Liquid Culture

This is my first shot at lc. You can see my hitech setup in the first pic.
    1st-time-liquid-culture-lc-001.jpg
I connected 4 fans w/magnets attached to an old computer I had laying around. 4 screws in the top of each fan are adjusted to raise a cd cover to the proper height to allow the magnets to spin.
Each jar has 600cc of well water (I have a well), 5 tsps of caro, and 4 3/8 pieces of paperclip. These are my spinners. The jars were pc'd at 10psi for 20minutes.
The jars are currently at 72 hours from innoculation.

This was innoculated with 5cc of a purchased liquid culture syringe left over after shooting 4WBS jars. It doesn't show well in the pic, but there is what appears to be dust particles floating around inside. (obviously there was no dust in my jars) This jar had a light yellow tint right after pcing, but returned to clear after 24 hours.

This jar is consistant with the above

This jar was innoculated with 3cc from a spore syringe I made from my current oyster crop. I used an entire sporeprint to make 60cc. It was so thick it looked like watery milk. You can see a nice cloud of mycillium forming.

This is kinda cool. After shooting some more WBS with the above syringe, I still had 20cc and an extra lc jar ready, so WTF. I shot all 20cc's into this baby and see what happens.
Where all three of the above jars turned clear within 24 hours, this one started turning orange. I can't make out anything floating in the water, but it is so dark you can't really see through it, and the water seems thicker than the other jars. The vortex in this jar keeps getting smaller as well, also indicating an increased viscosity of this liquid.
I sent the wife to pick up some rice straw today, but she came back with 20 bales of hay. I haven't used hay before, but it should work. If there is an interest, I will continue to document this through to the harvest.

Lol, they're using hay on dirty jobs 'Mushroom Farmer' right now. http://forums.mycotopia.net/general-...y-tonight.html (Dirty Jobs Mushroom Farmer (Discovery tonight)) It's urine soaked by horses and then composted.
