well I had a few problems all the way round so I couldn't tend to them like I wanted or visit the sit really either, I had a bunch of jars carp out on my from a ebay dealer, I don't wanna mention any seller names, after green mold ,black crap ,white fuzz , bacteria out the ass and a few dried cakes later I have 3 that did I little something, the one in container had some sort of bacteria and i contained it.

BTW my cake dried out not cause of lack of humidity i set my tub right by the hepafilter and it sucked it out, least it was suk'n in thru a poly fill filter. thats the orang hting in the pics , it's made from a pill bottle with the end cut off and stuffed with polly fill, I made a hole in the tude slid it in and sealed it and bam too mush air flow, so now i got it taped up a little.

and they are either the pink buffalo or SA, I have more in the works of TPB

I had to get rid of all three cakes today tho I noticed a green mass on the side of one, upon a close look it was a brown green mold, i threw that one away I checked the others and sure enough on the bottom of both the others so I tossed them well into the compost pile, I have a few others going,

One half pound of rye doing really well, it out to tho I had 5 others crap out on me stall then mold or bacteria set in, and this is one that showed nothing after 2 week of have SA spores in her so i shot it up with a little lc love! and bam!
, and about 4-6 more jars of brf from the same ebay seller they seem to be going really slow as now is circa 1 1/2 month mark, we will see they are TPB, I will have some pics of the jars tomorrow, peace

I think this one has cob web mold, pretty sure, I reckon toss it in the yard and hope for the best.

well these aren't cakes to say but they are what is left of them lol, I will try to get a few betterr pics in a bit,

this is Either TPB, SA or Colombian joy.

These were the 3 cakes that i had to trow out, instead of tossing them away i put t hem in my new flower bed, that i made my self,
the bed is comprised of water oak stump grinds.

the more stuff i move the more pins i see, oo boy!

I founf that some spots had no myc in them so I transplanted some from the healthier spots !

Cool. I wouldn't move stuff around too much. If you put a tarp over it to keep humidity in you will will get better results than without. I wasn't able to because of stealth reasons and I still got a fair amount of shrooms, but I would have gotten a lot more with a tarp. If there is any place around you that you can pick up some free poo, horses in the neighborhood or close by or cows, it would help too, to add some poo in there.

I have one problem tho I have noticed that there are a abundent amount of roley bugs, and something is eating at the little ones?

do you think thats it's them or slugs, and how much fun they have'n if they process it eh?

also I was wondering if thid bed does really well then i was thinking at the end of this growing season for them take some of the myc and trying to refrubish the bed? I have a compost pile of horse poo and starw.
would they come back next year just from the mycelium or would I need to let some drop spores?

Rollys and slugs are both bitches. The rollys you can get damaticus earth (sp?) and that helps with the slugs a little, but isn't extremely effective on slugs. I got these slug pellets at Home depot, and they work awesome. Slugs will only come out at night. Go out there and go hunting slugs when it is really dark with a flashlight. People will tell you to put a saucer of beer out and the slugs will be drawn to it and then you can collect all the drunk slugs in the morning, but that is more fun than practical I think. The slugs will still be there and you will still have problems. These slug pellets will eradicate the slugs. Instead of them disappearing when the sun comes up, they will still be on the surface all bloated and not realy able to move. I have to tell you, I have tried just about everything. If you look up my outdoor log, you will see all of the different problems that I came across...... Deer, squirrels, chipmunks, slugs, rollys, and DAMN foxes. The slugs were the most destructive and once I had them under control everything worked out well, the foxes were a big PITA too.

The mycelium coming back next year...... Don't know, it probably depends on how cold it gets where you are. I wouldn't rely on letting spores drop and counting on that to start up a new batch next year. Next year, if the mycelium network is destroyed or gone, I would make a bunch of spawn, beit BRF cakes (that's how I did mine) or something similar and use that to spawn to a bulk outdoor bed loaded with poo and straw would be good. I don't know how well popcorn or birdseed would work due to all of the damn pests wanting to eat it. See did use grains as spawn in his awesome grow, I think it depends on how much competition of animals you have around you and he covered it up so I think that helped keep the animals at bay.

and I really need some, I was wondering if salt would help with the slugs without messing up the myc?

and the lone ranger thats left after the sluges dosed last night, I went out side a bunch of times slug hunting but the later that it got the more that showed up and then there was only one!

I went outside every day to see half mushrooms. Didn't know that I had to go out and find them at night. I didn't know it was slugs for some time, because I could never catch them in the act. Salt is a big NO. I have also seen the slug pellets at Lowes. Don't be fooled that there was only one towards the end of the night, there are a lot more that are around. It took me a couple of weeks to get em all and then some still showed up. The pellets, you put them down and then they are good for 2 weeks, unless it rains relentlessly. Just call some local hardware stores maybe.?

On a different note, don't let your substrate dry out too much. You may need to take a watering can to in every other day if there is no rain.

Yep. You don't want it to get really dry otherwise shrooms will stop growing and have cracked caps and the mycelial network will stall and eventually die off.

I don't think I have to worry bout that right now, we are getting that tropical storm, I will def keep that in mind when it start to dry up, I am still fighting slugs I haven't found any of that earth stuff but i put a circle of salt round the perimeter. an has worked some, some one told me to use tooth paste on the walls?
there are a bunch of pins if the can just make it!

I also made a rack and a card board cover to shield them from the storm!

could I make a tea out of horse manure compost to water it with, do you think that that will do anything to help?

It definitely wouldn't hurt and yeah, I think it would help. I would then throw the horse poop right on top of the soil broken up. Don't use boiling water for the tea, just pretty hot, then let it cool obviously. I wouldn't get it above 140 degrees.

well it's been awhile but i still got a few going just can't keep here clean enough 1 out of 4 jars contams

Here is what i got now, I had 2 pint jar cakes On contamed on top I ripped it in half it is doing fine now, well as far as i can tell and the other that has the pins on it, i ripped in half to try the disturbed area = more fruits.
the last few are of my air pump and the timer that controls it, I took a syringe
pollfilled it and attached the air out line from the pump to filter it and I have the timer to run every 8 hours.

I have no clue what strain they are it is between SA, TPB, B+.

these are growing faster than any others that i have had, I i had a better set up I would cone the hell out of the best fruit!

Cloning. not spawning you have your term wrong.
It would become an unknown isolate since it has not fruited.
Nice rhizos for sure. When I do agar plates that's what I look for the thickest and fastest growing rhizomorphic threads

on this pic i noticed when taking it that the myc was kinda fuzzing up at the bases of the mushies like there was to much humidity?
my temp is:70f but may drop to 68f

well I just found my first two contaminates in the newly inoculated sub.today both were in a plantasia one i a half pint the other in a bag , damn green growing monster!!!!!!
also found a patch of cobweb mold on my caseing, I sprayed it down with peroxide and set-er outside. I hope that it makes it!
I hope that this is not a sign of things to come!

and the plantasia were not sponsors spores so i guess you can call that one my fault!
