![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Semilanceata outdoor grow
Time for a challenge ...lol I'm going to try to grow some Liberty's inside my own garden... I have two jars of Semilanceata mycelium growing, and so far everything looks good..no signs of contams, and they are already 50% colonized. When they are ready, I'm going to spawn them to some compost, peat and coir,..maybe add some sand or humus... I will bury this substrate under my grass lawn. On top of the grass I will sprinkle some poo-water from time to time... If some of you have some suggestions, then I am all ears...! This is very new to me,so I have know idea on how this will work... B.t.w I wanna thank Teesus for making this possible ! ![]() Here's a picture of the jars so far...

I thought on growing them indoors, but I don't have room for them... And,I like to see them pop-up in my own lawn... Btw those jars are from Bonne Mamam ,a French company that use those jars to fill them with Strawberryjam...´hmmm... Strawberry´ http://www.britsuperstore.com/acatalog/Bonne_Maman.html

I am trying a couple of different P. semilanceata strains as well. Will be watching carefully so we can compare notes. The mycelial growth I'm seeing is exactly like yours. I have some theories based upon much research Your environmental/ substrate ideas are similar to mine. GOOD LUCK!! |

I'm glad I'm not the only one... Are you planning on growing indoors or outdoors ?

Okay...,well I had some time today to make the outdoor bed.... First spawned the fully colonized jars with coir/peat and potting soil.(pictures 1) The plan was to add some humus aswell, but I didn't had any,and the shops were closed. I took away some grass and buried the substrate under it... Placed back the grass, and watered it very well. (picture 2) After a couple of month or so,I will add some poo water from time to time, but I leave it alone for now. I was still a little bit jumpy because of some stress at work this week,so the bed wasn't made as good as I was plan on doing... Oh well, will we see how it goes... All I can do now is wait, wait, wait....lol

Wow Space ![]() Best of luck i hope you have great success maybe build a hill or burm near the bed that lets water run down and get trapped near the bed, in some tall surface grass as long as it has drainage Looking Good lets see some Semilanceata's |

Spacecake, did you start them with the regular Pf Tek?or did you use something else?I am planning a few projects with them as well and noticed you are doing something similar.

Wow. Cool. I have messed around with trying to grow Liberty's for years. I have made many a fine jar of spawn but have never had any luck getting any further. I have taken maybe 10 jars of BRF with verm and broken them up into chunks and planted them in many different areas in my yard. So far no luck. I even dug up a big clump of grass with Myc and shrooms and brought it home and kept it going for about a year in a contaner. No fruit though. My big idea was to grow a dozen jars and plant just below the grass. I was going to just rip the turf up and stuff chunks below and lay it back down. Then apply a top dressing of composted cow manure. And water for the summer. I mostly found that when I went and dug up the chunks of verm to inspect growth most of them were rotting. I belive adding an intermediate step like growing the myc out into tubs with the substrate like your doing could help. Seems like the BRF was really open to contams when it is put into the lawn. The live culture I brought back from the picking grounds had the myc all woven in with the root system of the grass. My dream is to look out in my back yard someday in the fall and see hundreds of little caps poping up out of the grass. Anyway good luck.

Well,it's not the time for Liberty's yet.... I think September/October is the season here to find them,..have to say I'm not really sure of the date. It's still very hot and dry here,so I don't expect to see any popping up soon.

Good luck, they seem to be tricky little bastages. Since they love grasses, some thatch and dry grass might be useful. Do you live out of their normal range?

Nothing yet Teonanacatl.... It was little experiment, maybe the mycelium is dead..because there wasn't much substrate in there. But who knows,..maybe we will see some next year, just like it did with my Subaeruginosa's !
