Bag-O-Tricks: B+ Oven bag Grow log

Part 1 : Filter prep.

So I'm really fuckin' tryin' to find something to do today so...
This was kinda ripped from I think one of Paul's book(s)
Instead of using a filter patch, I built a Can-O-Poly (don't know what to call it)

I used a small can of Hunt's tomato paste. Poked 4 even holes
top and bottom with a can opener.
Blow the paste out (If you smoke don't try this)
Then soaked in a bowl of warm water and soap for 20 mins.
After that, let the little can fully dry.

Once dry, I started to pack it will Poly. The way I could tell that I had enough
Poly was by pressing the ploy down with scissors and the poly would spring
back to each hole. Also good to test by blowing through one end and judging
the air restriction.

Part 2: Cake-Mix prep

Using Semi-Supercake

2 Cups chunky verm (grade 2 or 3 I think)
1 Cup Distilled water
Let sit for 15 mins so the verm woul
soak up most of the water before adding the rice.

1 Cup ground white rice.
Mixed Then added.

1 TSP Quinoa flour
1 TSP dry cocoanut meat flakes.
1 TSP Spent Coffee grounds.
1 TSP Milled FLAX seed.
1 TSP yellow Corn meal.
1 TSP baking powder
1 Bee Pollen pill cap

More mixing... then added

1 Cup of Coir.
The Coir was fully hydrated but I hand squeezed the water out before adding.

Mixed again then started to load the bag.

Part 3: Bag prep.

Used Reynolds Turkey Size oven bags 19x23 1/2.
Didn't need it that big so cut down some.

Once the bag was loaded I used Heater duct Tape.
As this is foil tape and can with stand hi temps
while still making an air-tight seal.

Wraped the Top of the can with Foil and droped it in
the PC for 100 mins @ 15PSI.
No issues after the PC run.. time to knock it up......

Part 4: Inoculation

Shot up with 30 cc's of B+ LC . I pre-taped the inoculation point that
way, outside the glovebox I could quickly tape over it.

Now we wait......

that can filter looks crazy what is the advantage there just better FAE or is it still a bit unknown to you?

How did you stop the turkey bag from melting in the pc?

turkey bags go in the oven ie 400 degrees

Very creative Jigalow! Maybe I'm a little slow on the uptake, but is the poly stuffed can a substitute for a filter patch that one would typically have on a mycobag?

Wouldn't Turkey bags be semipermeable so that they don't explode when roasting? As weeeeeee inquired, was your main goal to increase FAE?

I think it worked out awesome for FAE, I would recommend it.
The issue is it starts to rust no biggie. But you can PC over and over.
I would just work the bag once a week push and pull air in and out.

got myself a bunch of oven bags which im thinking off using for the shits n giggles.

just wondering weather you contracted trich after or during colonisation.
