Here is my first thread. My FOAF has been raising his own medicine for some time.... Here are some photos.... Strains are Black Widow, Strawberry cough x Deep Chunk.... This medicine was raised with all organic food in soil. The method is similar to SOMA's but is modified a little. What is cool is that the lights are water cooled. A thousand watt bulb a few inches away from the tops.... Awesome medicine! I get migraines and these two strains are good for my condition.... |

Beautiful. How does one embark on a medical mary jane expedition? I fantasize about being able to grow legaly and it seems like other countries are becoming more and more friendly to this. Could you help me with any ideas as how to get started, where to move (Cali, Europe, costa rica), how to go about getting started on a dream like this? It would be a dream come true to come out of th edark and grow legal.

![]() ![]() | Thanx everyone
OK.... How bout I do a grow log on the next Post?... show ya how he did it.... The lights are water cooled.... they are a little pricey but worth every penny... Here are some pics from our last grow.... 20 plants... Deep chunk is a heavy hitter that will put me to sleep in my chair... which is what I need when I get a migraine.... pass out stuff... it usually isn't known to get big... but we think we figured out what it likes.... It tastes like chocolate with a hint of strawberry.... The laws to grow legally are not totally in place... so it is a risk... but for a personal garden.... it's pretty dog gone safe here in Cali... It is legal on a state level but illegal on a federal level. (Obama has promised to not arrest us...but we shall see) Personally I have been given a recommendation for a certain amount of plants that I can raise. (of course like I said earlier my FOAF uses his home to help us) but the method is one I have developed over 10 or so years... I was taught by a guy who had 25 or so years experience with organic methods... My girl and I both are medical cannabis patients.... We have been raising our own medicine for quite some time now. (at our foafs house) Well enjoy.... I offer what I know to mychotopia... I will teach anyone here who has a desire to learn what I know to get it like this... I have learned much here about shrooms which have been an ally for most of my life...(About once a year FOAF raises enough shrooms to last a year....yes, I am getting to be an old fart too) but, I ain't too old to smoke this stuff....lol Peace |

Don't know much about breeding... but that seems to be the next logical step in FOAFs growth as a cannabis farmer.... | |

u should look into a tek called super croping and FIM (fuck i missed ) . i get around the medical plant count laws using the tech i talked about , its like making a light basket , u bend them so the bottoms get high lighting. do you crop the plant all at once ? are do you take the tops 1st then 12 days later take the mids alllowing the mids to grow large and dense . then 12 days later take the bottoms . with this method using a afgan X bc big bud i can get 3 plants under a 1000hps to yield around 10 qps . my clients pay for lights and meters of space , not weed . i ask 4 9 grand per light . per person . i have to have the paper work and a copy of there ID , on the wall at all times . is it the same there ? later syn . nice looking pics , bet that stuff whould make some awsome bubble hash . its packed with crystals . keep up the good work . |

If you want to get around the plant count You can grow some monsters that yield 11-12 LBS. Not sure what your plant count is in your state/location but here in Cali it got threw out(Kelly vs.The people ) Appeal not over turned(US 9th District Court) Hit me up a pm or look up Tom Hill in search to learn how to do big 12 ft. bushes out doors! |

Thanks for all the great compliments. I am almost finished with my tek... These nugs have nuttin but good stuff in them... we are very careful about what and how we feed them. Plus there is no sprays or insecticides used... I like to know what I am burnin....lol Today I will be sampling some Western Winds... an almost pure sativa from sagarmatha .... These were from seed that we started last year about this time.... Once I had tasted the flavor and effects of organically grown bud... I wanted to learn how it was done.... it takes 3 months to practice once.. And I have failed miserably b4... my first attempt was in 2000... I got lucky... an organic grower took me on as an apprentice for a couple of years. It would be much easier jus to buy it at the dispenseries... but they usually dont have the 12-14 week hybrids that I get excited about. IMO... a good looking bud isn't always good for you... Mine have to be able to cut through level 8-10 migraines... There are only a few strains that can touch it... I no longer feel safe with opiates... So... hense the green thumb.... Learnin to raise Medical cannabis is one of the coolest adventures I have ever been on.... Hope many others will get to experience this in their life... Thank you guys for being alive and being my friends... I am really starting to appreciate this place here.... Peace

I do not advocate illegal grows... that is a personal choice. I don't judge those who grow illegally. A good nug is a good nug... I just need to be clear about this for certain readers who may not be friends of the plant. With that said... Here are some thoughts( I am assuming that you have no experience... if you do please forgive the lecture....lol) 1. save up... get to a medical marijuana state. 2. Get stable income that can handle your bills. (Jobs aren't as bad if you know you are workin towards self employment) 3. Get doctors recommendation 4. Save up for equiptment (jus do enough for yourself at first while you get it down) Maybe one or two lights. 5. Practice, practice, practice... read read read.... and grow grow grow. 6. Over time... you will be able to find your self with some skills. At that point you can think about being competitive enough to be successful. In California it is very competitive. The dispenseries turn away 80-90 % of the venders who come in to provide medicine. It has to be the absolute best to get them to consider taking it off your hands. I have very seldom had a problem with organic top shelf bud that has good genetics. We just do it for medicine now. 7. Once you can grow a good nug... You could then think about building your system up. I have seen some who go all the way setting up a big system with stars in their eyes about striking it rich with no or little experience. Please remember a large system has more variables than a small one. Please dont fall for this cause there are much easier ways to make money. I would suggest focusing on getting the skill first... You will know when you can grow a good nug. At that point you will know what it takes and be able to make an informed decision on wether or not you wanna go pro. We just raise it for our own medicine right now. Give your self a year or two b4 you get tied into a set-up that you are depending on to eat cause...many... many things can go wrong... And it can discourage a person into giving up and this sometimes comes with a huge debt when it crashes. Cannabis is a easy plant to grow... but to get the dank..well.. it takes time to get to know your strains... and oddly enough... for them to get to know you. 8. Follow the laws... Don't steal electricity... don't grow more than your limit... Set a good example by going by the states recommendations. Don't give it away or sell it to anyone unless they have a valid card. This can be a challenge for some. 9. Don't tell anyone... Even friends... the more of a secret you can keep it... the more freedom you will have to come and go as you please. It is tempting to wanna shout it from the rooftops when you got your harvest in and its all exciting and all... resist the temptation to brag in any way.... Even your plans to do it need to be kept to yourself.... imo 10. Use all organic methods/foods, no harmful pesticides and use low waste materials that are biodegradable. Things like rockwool do not decompose for many years if at all. Use products that don't have dead things or harsh metals. Some of these have been argued to being harmful when smoked. Think of ways that your system can use low amounts of plastics and other non-biodegradable items. Buy "large" with your foods and products. Its cheaper and better for the earth. All our system produces for waste now is biodegradable root cloth and oasis cubes which are both non-trash items and are put to use in the outside veggie garden. The soil used for our system is put into the garden every year. Don't use harmful pesticides. Avid(a popular pesticide) was thought to have killed one of our most beloved advocates, a nun who simply handled the nugs at one of the early dispensaries for AIDS patients. They think the residues from avid caused her to get cancer and die. She helped many people and this movement. Truly a great loss. 11. Enjoy your fruits. Many people don't ever get to experience the magic healing powers of this plant from a growers perspective. There is nothing like doing quality control for your own medicinal garden. 12. Build a strain collection: try to find unique strains that have all the earmarks of what we like. Don't waste time with unproven strains... Seed from weed sacs are hit and miss. Spend the extra for some quality bred strains... You will be much happier... Once established, you can experiement. The trick is to not be depending on seeds.. Think of raising seeds as being a scavenger hunt for quality. Once you find a few that only you have that is liked by others... you can mother those ones for you crops..In California... all that has been done and quality strains are usually just a drive away for a card holder. Well there are a few thoughts for you'all.... happy growing Peace Guitardude

![]() ![]() | I got that strain from Blue Sky in oakland... Well, it was called SR 71 then. The pamphlet that described the Black Widow said it was the "mr nice veriation of the white widow". It gets bigger and more frosty than the other ones I have seen called White Widow. Plus this variant rocks for ms guitardude's glaucoma. I works so good for her vision... clears it up so she can read. Amazing strain... Makes me a little loopy so I avoid this one....lol There have been many good strains that came from the brazilian sativa that most of the "white strains" have in it. Thanks for the feedback....

Guitardude, always love your photos, and would love to hear more details on all the strains you've grown and tried. SWIM is always looking for the dankest or most unique strains. Killer smells/tastes, super frostiness, finishing times, and yield, are all deciding factors on strains he chooses, and would love to know some of your all time favs, with any details you can include. Thanks!

That is a good idea... maybe I can start a topia journel of my experience with strains. I think when I last counted we had about 100 or so we have tried. But there are usually a few that have shined through all the cannabis related memory loss....lol... Got me thinkin bro....[/QUOTE]
