![]() ![]() | two level fruiting chamber
Hello. This is my 1st experience with mushrooms. Have been reading this awsome forum for some months now. Im willing to grow as much mushrooms ar possible in limited space. So I will show you my setup. Feel free to comment! If i have dome something wrong - correct me! So, i started with box! I bought biggest plastic box i could find in local shop! ![]() ![]() Then i used some bubble stones and tubing from zoo shop. I will be using aquarium air pump for FAE. ![]() There is my pump. Its the one for 250 - 400 litres of water. So i think its working just fine for setup like this. ![]() Aquarium tubes. ![]() To get pure air I found a cheap solution how to filter it. I just took a food box, made a hole and filled it with polyster. Then i put the lid on and everything should work just fine. ![]() ![]() To control the temperature of FC im using aquarium heater. Make a hole, put it in and take some silicone! ![]() ![]() ![]() To get more space, i will be using two levels. Level one. ![]() And level two. ![]() You can see containers full with perlite. It is just for now. I have not found a solution where and how to put it therw so it does not take so much area in my FC! In water belwo level 1 I addes some H2O2. Not too much. Just few tablespoons. I still have some 15 x 1 pint cakes in incubator. If you have some questions - ill be here to answer. Even more important - if you see something wrong or something that i should change - feel free to do so. ou can give me some ideas to perlite containers. I dont want them to wast my grow space! PEACE! |

Also, you will want some room between your racks for the mushies to grow.

yup, i would put something more solid as your 2nd layer. the mushrooms will grow right threw the metal and you'll be digging your fruits out for an hour instead of a quick harvest. If you really want the space, i would run your heater in a separate tub the same size and place the whole unit inside it, allowing for a layer of perlite on the bottom of your existing tub. you might be able to just throw it in the bottom but i've never ran a heater and perlite in the same layer like that. |

Why not have the air pump going into a jar with H20 in it with a hose coming out of the lid going into the FC, so you get FAE and humidity all rolled into one. Something kinda like this

And jar with water doesnt gove too much humidity. The water i have has very large survace and as it is pretty warm, it evaporates itself!

Irishlion - i get the idea. but then i must take out my aquarium heater... It seems to work fine now. Humidity with my perlite containers was from 93 to 97%. I took out half of the containers because of caces getting wet. I was thinking to make like a snake out of some woman sox or something... And put it all around the rack of level 1... |

at first i was thinking to put them all together, but thought abuot how well the heat would dissipate in the perlite mixture and wasn't sure if it would be perfect. only one way to tell... test... what i was just thinking now thuogh, was stuff some stockings full of perlite and let them sit on one half of the bottom of the tub, that way you still have free flowing water travelling over the heater. |
