Transkei on agar

Well I just transferred some transkei myc from two contammed dishes onto 8 new ones with H2O2.
I use quite a high conc of H2O2 this time to hopefully prevent most contams.
I used 1:20 17.5% H2O2 wich gives a conc. of ~0.8% H2O2 agar.

Let's pray that the dishes wont contam!

(I havn't used a glovebox or anything for the open air work)

There's a ton of bacteria brewing in those plates. BUT, there is also a lot of mushroom mycelium as well. Take a sewing needle or a scalpel (sterilized) and use it to shave a tiny piece of mycelium off of the top of a nice spot. Very little and transfer that to a new plate or 5. Use sanitized gloves and a glove box. That open air stuff is weak at best. Good luck.

None of the dishes has showm any sign of growth yet (no contams though). I probably used WAY to much H2O2.

Today I transferred a contammed dish to 7 salt agar dishes (good TEK lazlo). Since my only contams this far are bacterial the salt will keep them off.

It seems the recovery time on agar is fairly long

I also transferred some myc to wet cardboard and that is already fluffing up nicely and taking over the cardboard.

Four dishes are starting to fluff up and recover.
No contams yet.
Will return with pics once you can see the little buggers growing.

The dishes have been growing at very varying rate. Two have almost taken over the agar whilst (proper term to use instead of while?) the rest are slacking behind. The ones that have colonized quickly also grows quite uneven.

....

I'm working an some Trankei too...
Yellow and red ones.
The yellow (original form Afrika..I think I got it from phlux) contaminated on me...
I will take a clone of the red ones (from a cake) when it's finished it's flush

Maybe I shall ask him again for another print, because I want to grow them side by side.
