![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My 1st Iso
This is my first Iso. Strain is god seekers. Last time I grew this strain the fruits were all 1/4inch long and never got any bigger on all 4flushes. They were very potiant. I was upset with the size of the fruits so I decided to isolate the strain. I did one drop of spore solution to agar. From there I transfered the most rizo to another dish then again transfered to 2 more plates. I cut out a wedge from the final plate and droped into a rye jar. I took that one jar and did a small hpoo and straw tuperware container. I just tipped the shit brick out of the tuperware and dec it like a cake. When I took it out of the container I noticed there were 3pins on top. I hope I didnt mess up the pins. Heres a pic of the bottom of the shit brick. If this lil brick spits off a good yeild I willl be making a master slant and a large mono tub with this isolate. |

Very rhizomorphic brick you've got there Mush! Be sure to keep us posted on the grow! I've had some real shorties that have knocked my socks off before. Let's hope you get a forest!

Cant say where I got the spores from. I can say that I got the spores before I found this site. Eats the shrooms were just short maybe only 1/4 inch tall never matured. Im not totaly satisfied with this flush but it looks a lot beter then the first time I grew these from ms. I am going to clone that cluster you see in the pics. I am leaving for a trip 2mow and wont be back till next week. Im going to leave these in the tub and hope they dont get over growen while Im gone.

Didnt get to clone the cluster do to leaving outa town. I had to harves all the fruits before I left. Here are the pics from last weeks harvest. There are pins coming around for round 2. I have no idea why there is a little flare in the caps. Im not very impressed but its a lot beter then the ms grow I had with this strain.

This wasnt a clone at all. I shot 1 drop of ms onto an agar plate and did several transfers to other agar plates untill I got a good looking plate. I took that agar plate and cut a wedge and tossed it to a rye gran jar. After the grain jar was colonized I spawned to hpoo and straw. Here is the giant I got from this small tub. I did clone this fruit to 4 rye jars, but oonly one turned out. Im going to do g2g today with my 1/2 pint of cloned rye. This shroom was over 110g fresh!!! I will post results of my first clone in this thread.

I poured all my plates and did all my transfers in a home made glove box. The box isn't anything special but works. I took the clone in a hurry. I did my cloning in open air. I split the shroom and took clean tweesers and pulled a peice from the inside and droped the peices in 5 different jars. I did my cloning in open air because of time constants, I'm very happey 1 jar made it. I do almost everything open air. I do not have a flow hood. If I do agar work or transfers I resort to a pos home made glove box. | |

Sorry I havent been updating. One of the 5 jars made it without contam. I transfered 1/2 of that jar to 2 quart jars and got green. After that I took 2 peices of grain from the other 1/2 of the good jar and transfered to 2 dishes. I got good growth and made a 3rd transfer to 5 more dishes 3 of 5 made it. Now Im at a stand-still (got too much going on). Heres some pics. I cant wait till I have time to play with this! First pic is of the 1st dish transfer. You can see where I cut out the mycelium. the next are of the new transfers. The last pic is of a dish that has contam. |

I've been reading, looking for the answer to a question that I have and I think you just did that. I want to know if I can take one colonized grain of rye and culture it on a petri dish to isolate the rizo, makes sense to me but I am fairly new at this and just want to know for sure... Thanx...

sure, you can do that waterchilde. Just gotta figure out how to get a piece of colonized grain onto the plate as sterile as possible...perhaps sterilized forceps or something.
