I think outdoor shrooms look more robust than indoor shrooms and I love the way they look when they are fully open even though they are less potent. But indoor shrooms are rarely infested with maggots LOL

I agree. I really like the way shrooms in nature look, and I especially enjoy the hunt. Hunting for them is a blast.

It probably should be moved to general discussion.

Outdoors. It's hard to grow em like this indoors. Here's two of our favorite edibles. Top picture is tooth fungus. I'm working on developing a way to grow this one indoors. I cloned this very fruitbody last fall, and have cleaned up the culture on agar. It's one of the best tasting fungi out there, second only to morel in my opinion. Bottom picture is a wild fruiting of oysters. Both pictures were taken in the old-growth forest of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area in central Washington State.

that 'tooth fungus' is beautiful.
and i do like the look of outdoors,
but if one removes the shroom from context
by picking first
then i'd say indoors look better

Re: Debate: What shrooms look nicer? Indoor or outdoor?

ive never seen cubies in person outside
but from the pictures ive seen the caps always have a wet look to them, like a slimey glare (i dont think they are slimey, just how they look). i think the outdoor ones look cooler imo.
