Ban Phang Ka: multispore bulk

so i tested this strain 2 times before. the first time it wouldn't catch to the wbs grain. after about 6 months i finally got it to catch.

2nd time it started fruiting really small pins that looked very stringy. none of them matured. i attempted a few runs using bulk but nothing fruited besides a few pins that died.

this is the 3rd attempt. finally after switching to popcorn grain this strain finally woke up.

substrate is coir/strawnet 50/50 supercake formula in it. fat meaty stems. decent multispore yield.

dark blue stain, meaty solid stems. very similar growth to burma. not as large though.

Nice job eats. You are about as consistent with fat flushes as anyone could ever be with multi spore!

what do you think the reason for the myc not running the wbs? were you innoculating the wbs with muti spore lc, or just straight spores?

g2g from master pf jars. just forked in the mycelia. not real sure. just wouldn't take off. i had some masters kept in the fridge for 6 months. tried it a few times. finally after like 6 months it caught on the grain. im not real sure. i did the grain teks as usual.

one other question. when you say a master pf jar; do you mean pf jar as in brf and vermiculite?

i did multispore honeywaterkaro lc to popcorn then spawned to hpoo/straw. i would have to say start to finish it was the fastes i have grown so far. getting ready to work with some other strains see how they pop up. once my agar practice works and get some strain isolations it will really be taken off. nice grow eats you always have great stuff to share and show.

I had a syringe of BPK from ralphster but it ended up being a mold host.
The picture of it growing off a horse nugget on his site is pretty epic and so is your casing mang.

yes the strawnet is pasteurized.

i like popcorn bc its full proof. it cost more though. and it takes a bit longer to prep. but once the grain is done. i don't have to shake it or anything. just g2g and then it colonizes in 5 days without a shake. thats nice!

also, it last longer in the fridge to store it in masters than wbs.

but overall i still love wbs!

the corn is giving me 0 contams so far in about 100 quart jars. compared to the 145 or so tossed out on wbs. id say its a bit more resistant to trich outbreaks.

master pf jars.

i mean pf jars with brf and verm made. i use these as masters injecting clones and what not into them. stored in the fridge once colonized. then when the time comes. g2g using a fork into 10 or 12 quart jars. this would then be 2nd generation g2g transfer. ill often inject the clone into about 4 pf jars. this will last a few months of that one strain if not a year or so. just fork when ever you need 10 quarts. then keep a quart or 2 of those for g2g to 3rd gen. then when your done with all that. go back to the master in the fridge. from a syringe. i can draw out a strain a few years. just keeping the masters or clone material in the frige in syringes. works really well. and if you have lets say 15 strains going. then you can easily just grab one when you need one. depending on the mood your in...

i have no idea why the strain didn't want to catch to grain. its still growing a bit wild. hopefully a clone can be taken in the near distant future and clean it up a bit. otherwise the growth on this strain is really good. id hoped for much larger fruit size but lets just see. still just testing it out.

I also LOVE popcorn - I use popcorn jars for my spawn masters.

Popcorn is also fantastic in pints to make myc slurry. A 3/4 filled popcorn jar fully colonized can easily make 340mL of slurry. Thank you Fahtster for teaching me that.

If ya have a Sam's Club nearby, you can get a 50lb bag of popcorn for less than $20. I use 2 five gallon buckets to keep the overage free of bugs and whatnot.

damn costco don't have it...gonna have to change to sams club lol..sams club is on the other side of the earth though. dunno if i want to make that trip everytime...

Depending on the size of your town, you might be able to find a party store that rents popcorn machines. Frequently 50lb bags can be acquired from them, but they will probably want more than $20.

You can mail order it really cheap - until you add shipping!

i am going on my third flush from popcorn spawn to hpoo/straw. so far i am pretty impressed but all my pic are on my old phone. the first havest shrooms from both minnie bulks were yeilding those 40 50 grammers wett bigger than a bic on the shrtys they kinda had the ksss look short thick and big caps. my last little bit that i will be pulling tonight before the third flush on the small bulk they are shortt ans stumppy thick caps but kinnda look like those ksss strain a lil. useing hpoo/straw and popcorn jars they get thickand big growing them on poo.

sams has 50lb bags for 17 bucks right now. worth getting. usually shipped 50lb bag is like 50 to 70 bucks. way pricy.

actually have some newer bpk grows coming up so will post pics shortly. wbs is usually 10 bucks for 25lbs now. so its 3 dollars cheaper for 50lbs of popcorn.
