Fun with Panaeolus.

I decided I would take the Pan trays and do something with them instead of just trashing them.So I mixed the two tray's together and placed them into a clone tray.I applied a new casing layer,covered the tray with foil and incubated it for two day's.

After the two day's I put it into the green house with out a dunk,within a few day's,the first pins started to form around the edge of the clone tray.I really didn't think I would get anything at all from it.

Today I decide I would give the tray a dunk,and leave the mushrooms that were on it there.I sprayed the whole tray very heavily with my mister, including the mushrooms that were there,and then took a few photos before I placed it back in the green house.

I am hoping that the dunk will help the middle of the tray fill out.I am not expecting anything though since these are spent tray's,but well see I guess.

When I sprayed the mushrooms,almost instantly some of the caps bused from the spray.I thought it kind of looked cool so I took some pics of that and the water drops that had formed on,and between some of the caps.

Thank You buteo,I have taken a liking to pans.I would like to start cloning a few and working with those,but the lack of space usually keeps me from getting into things as much as I would like to be.
I do not have any pictures of the whole green house at the moment,but it is your standard green metal frame with wire shelving.I have an ultrasonic humidifier pumping in through the top back.I run it for 10 minutes every 2 hours.I also place a heating mat on the very bottom shelf and hook it to a timer as well,set to go off for an hour every hour,this helps a lot at night when the lights are off at night.For lighting I am using a growlux fluorescent tube,and two bed lamps with those energy saver lights that I move as needed.

I am not sure,cant remember myself,but at least 3....
After a week or so here I think I may try and add some fresh manure to this,and see if I can keep it alive.

thanks dr.h. that seems to be the best way people are getting pans to pop up. the fae is real important and thats where im failing i would imagine.youve got plenty of airspace with the right humidity with the ultrasonic. you are doing so great i might have to follow your footsteps next time i give them a go. wow those pictures are just amazing

I run an ultrasonic humidifier in there on a timer to go off for 10 mins every two hours space.

I have been noticing that it is when I spray it down with the mister that things really start to take off.If I just fill the tray with water,I don't have nearly as good results with the next flush.
They really seem to like having there casing layer sprayed down with the mister instead of being flooded.The trays still get flooded after a nice long mist,but when I mist them directly,you can see the casing layer being moved by the water,this seems to help and they seem to really like it,at least in my mind haha.

Yes I had quite a bit of side pinning spacecake,this always seems to be the case when it does not get sprayed down first.As soon as it gets a shower with a spray bottle pins form in the center of the tray for me.From now on,as soon as the casing layer is colonized,it is getting a heavy spray down before going into the green house.

i sure cant wait to get your letter. i got my horse nuggets prescreen. then mixed it well with verm at a 50/50 mix. that should be good right. i got hydrated lime you think i should add some of that? to rise the ph.

Yes some of them have been rather large for pans Om,not that I am complaining.I have some pan prints here that are larger then some of my cubensis prints.
No I have not had a chance to try them yet,I have just been far too busy.I have eaten the Goliath s before,and they were POTENT,so I am sure the others will be too.I will try and remember to do a little essay on the differences between them once I get a chance to eat the other two.I am looking forward to eating these Vietnam's for one reason,it took me so long to save enough worth eating.I managed to get a whopping 2 grams dry from the Vietnam's.They were so small it was ridiculous,especially when dried.

I've seen much praise for both Sandose and Vietnam here too, so that would be great with some comparative notes, after you have had time to digest some of these tiny and gigantic pans. It's not so often we get a chance to hear about it, since it's only you and spacecake who grow so many different pans simultaneously.
