tyvek and filter discs arent the only "filters" you can use on your jar. for example, there is also micropore tape and polyfil. i always filter my grain jars with polyfil.

i have some popcorn going for the first time some with pollyfill filters and 2 with no filter just extra room in the jar. so i can see both sides of it filter/no filter. so far that are all fuzzy and white but they got a bit to go so anything could happen.

no option for hq tyvek or polyfil so i chose 3. synthetic disks are heady and save much hassle in the end. someone recently mentioned on topia about cutting them into like 8 pieces, this would make much sense but be sure to have -a fluffy substrate/food mix in the jars and or -not too much moisture, as the full-coverage of a synthetic disk on a jar lid is bar-none for air exchange. hope this helps. |

I just bought some and it looks like real good quality....the site is linked there (in the glossary) ....so i would imagine it is what hip uses. I hope that you find this useful. Good luck!
