Poppy goo!

Made a big batch of poppy tea, filtered it through a coffee filter and reduced it down to a goo. I am doing this in the hopes that it will help with the stomach cramping that straight tea causes me. I will let this dry out and mix 2 grams with water to make an "extracted" tea. I hope it works. Thanks oibchip for the idea.

You know I just read what I wrote and I really don't see how this will make a difference theoretically. Really it is a "concentrate" more than an extraction. Nothing was really removed. Does reducing it remove anything from the liquid? I am interested to see what happens.

From what I read, the stomach aches is just a part of what morphine does to a user... not much one can do.. however it does say most users learn to start enjoying the stomach aches and vomiting because of the euphoria that follows.

Maybe a reason that it feels better to you without having to be placebo is that there is less volume of 'liquid' in your stomach... so you don't feel so full... you feel better.. just a thought...

The book I have also says that you are done with the first part of purifying the opium... you can go a step beyond and isolate the morphine from the rest of the alkaloids... by using slake lime and a cold water process.
(there is another step after this to convert the morphine into heroin, but i'm sure that's not too interesting for us... )

I've been meaning to put these books in the exchange, I'll get to it and try to have some in there by sunday.

I just put some in the microwave for a quick dry. Holy shit the sparks coming off it! Is there some sort of metallic element in poppies? WTF?

Anyway I rolled a gram sized ball and swallowed it like a pill. I'll let you know how it goes.

I dried some of the goo up in the oven and then scraped up the "powder/crystals"..there was some effect when i smoked it but it was hard to get a decent coal going and it was very harsh on the throat. Not near as good as the goo IMO. I was expecting alot more too..I was imagining myself laying on my side with my hookah..like you see in the opium dense. But alas, it wasn't to be . I wish that I knew an easy tech to make some smokable though. If anyone knows one, please post it.

I found this

After some experimenting I have come up with a new method to obtain a smokeable product from tea. Or rather, how to extract opium from pods either fresh or dry.

1. Take pods, dried or fresh, and freeze them
2. Add 4 parts water for each 1 part pod material into a blender and grind it up good
3. Pour it over in a mug or similar, stirr it well for some minutes, then let it sit for about 1 hour in room temp.
4. Strain it to discard the biggest chunks, use a strainer with fairly big holes.
5. Fill the upper brown and most clear layer over into a bottle, let the rest stay in the mug
6. Extract the goo and particles left in the mug with more water, like was done with the pods in step 2 and 3.
7. Strain and pour this solution also over into the bottle
8. Shake bottle and put in a freezer (Dont cap the bottle, could explode if pressure expands it while freezing)
9. When half the solution in the bottle has frozen filtrate it with a cloth (t-shirts work fine) and discard the ice.
10. Put the solution back into bottle, shake it well, freeze it down again like in step 8 and 9.
11. Take this second filtrated solution and evaporate it in a pot placed in a larger pot with cooking water (warm bath)
12. The brown substance left in the smaller pot when evaporated, sometimes a bit like mexican tar, can be smoked.

This type of Morphine salt extracted with this method is highly soluble in cold water
No need for any acidic chemicals in the process, no ascorbic acid, lemon juice, etc. This makes it less soluble.
The morphine stays in the water, the junk in the ice that you discard.

Tea works great 4 me. I usually have to chase it with a sweet drink and a fat J but the MJ really seems to kill the Naseau.

Smoking the goo is going to be tricky anyways. Goo isn't actually smoked, it's vaporized... if you look at the old chinese pipes they have a bowl. The bowl is tipped sideways and put over a lamp to heat.
the vapors collect and then they smoke it....

you can find them on ebay...

usually the lamp is thrown in free.

Anyway I think I have come to the conclusion that I have the hardest head in history when it comes to opiates. I ate 5 grams of that goo tonight and I feel like I maybe took on real weak perc. I have only gotten "there" once and that was a pod tea from 7 large pods. The stomach cramps are unbearable with that much tea, so it looks like I have to either make heroin or give up on pods. I can't believe it is the pods because they came from the same vendor as everyone else who has been praising them so much lately, and my girl loves them.

Oh well I'll just have to give the rest to a friend

I to have given up on these my stomach can't hang anymore plus the taste has progresively gotten unbearable I thought after cactus tea anything else was possible but I'm affraid not. I tried reducing tea over the day but found it much harsher on my stomach and not quite the same.

i have no problem smokin the goo
as long as it is further dried in the oven
so that it resembles hard shiny black glass.

it breaks into a nice shiny powder and
fills the bong with a thick cloud of smoke
that leaves me 'floating' about.

a lot of time and effort to make none the less.
milking the pods i'm sure is a much more pure and delightful experience.

still have to try re-dissolving the goo in tea
really just saving the rest of the pods for pure medicinal purposes.

I've now done both, and it is good either way. Don't get me wrong it is not a "pleasurable" smoke in that it tastes great, just the high is very relaxing and smooth, with the latter certainly not being a word that comes to mind when describing the taste.

Made my first batch of tea yesterday. Took half a cup, and in two hrs nodded a bit, felt it for bout 6 hrs. but the 3 hr gutache is not worth it to me.lol I prolly did something wrong, I did do it the heat method. Today am making a huge batch, and trying to reduce it all the way down to a smokable. Made a little batch yesterday to smoke, it didn't hurt as bad as the tea.lol but did feel something little and didn't last too long, both out of the freezing water filter method. Will try this once before I give up, and attempt the fungus grow

my addition to the topic is kinda late and may have already been talked about, but while i was in thailand last month, i kept looking for codeine syrups and stumbled upon a

camphorated opium tincture.

i had never heard of this before this point and its kind of "noxious" but at the right % strength im sure it works fairly fast and easily if you were looking for a laudanaum alternative.

You did nothing wrong. Take too much opiates and you will get a stomach ache or worse. It's just the nature of the beast really.

Thought i would try making some poppy goo with everclear..I just used 3 pods in this halfpint..

If it does extract, it would be easier to evap down..

Read some reports, that there is a potentiating
alkaloid that's destroyed durin boiling,,Could be BS but this would be one way to bypass the heating..

What a frikkin night!
Jesus man, well you can see I didnt get the pics up...LOL.yet
But....after mi goo was done, I scraped it all up, and there was really no water left in it so it was smokable soon after it was done.....
So I put a bit on top of some greenery, and took a couple hits........and my lungs felt like they were gonna explode after I took a few hits........ taste wasnt too bad..........
But after a few hits, I decided, "fuckkit, Im jus gonna eat some".... so I rolled up a ball a little bigger than a pea, maybe a pea and a half...lol
then I figured Id jump in the shower while I waited for it to kick in, if it was gonna kick in at all.
Now Ive got quite a high tolerance to opiates, so after about an hour, and not really feeling much.........I was thinking to miself...
' maybe I should eat another lil piece'...................... it was only a few minutes after saying that to miself..(and I didnt eat more), that I got a wicked bad gut ache.so I held mi gut a few minutes, and it passed like 5 mins later.......
nother 10 mins or so went by, and here comes the gut ache again.....sonofabitch man!!!
I thought maybe the hard , sticky ball was jus sittin in the middle of my gut not dissolvin or somethin, so I made some hot green tea to dissolve it, I got the gut ache a few more times thru the night...........
BUT..........yes, I was a bit fuct up mates......lol.
I felt like I popped about 3-4 norco vics (the 1000 mg ones) or somethin........with a slightly diff feeling added...dont really know what tho.......
I did fall asleep earlier than I have in a looong time tho........ slept till like 8 this mornin or somethin..........but I was so hungry I needed to get up..........
so i got up and ate................and............................ ..shortly after...............................
RAALLPPHHHH!!!!!!!! Holy jesus man, wasnt fun. lol
pretty potent ish, but I think the rest of the ball will get put away till I run out of mi pills or somethin. lol......

From what i have read ,the Morphine is destroyed at 265C, which would indicate that the Gooo needs to be vaporized,not burned..

Maybe using a lightbulb or foil with a strawlike tube , for a cool hit..

Golly it looks like you can get more pods in that alcohol, and I would. stuff isnt cheap, and you can effectively extract at least twice what you have there in that alcohol.

I do mine in the fridge, and it seems 48 hours is about as good as its going to get. I am afraid of eating any iso extracts myself. I know I know.

You will still be able to get some brown extract from boiling the pulp after you use the alcohol on it. I did, even after soaking the stuff for a week. It is not the most efficient (alcohol) but it yields a cleaner product. So, dont forget to boil up the grounds when you are done with the alcohol for maximum end product.

The alcohol extract looks and acts exactly like cactus when extracted via alcohol, very very sticky and black. Use some vegatable or olive oil on your blade when scraping it up, and maybe a bit of flour on your fingers if you handle it.
