Poppy Isopropyl Extraction?

Theoretically, would someone be able to extract smokable opium from DRIED poppy pods? I've heard of a cold water extraction technique in the New Vaults, but would extracting with 91% iso. and evaporating work too?

I had a stab at it awhile back and was unsuccessful. I only use a couple pods, only let it soak/shaking it, for about five minutes. Evap'd it and the Brown remains where useless. Further experimenting wasn't done cause I have been side tracked and also didn't wanta' waste/use more pods for experiments right now.

a good friend of mine extracted some pods into iso and then basified with naoh to ph 9. this ph is listed as the best for getting the more powerful properties from the pod. after evap he was left with a nice smokeable extract. care must be used in the ph adjust. my cat went too high, used hcl to bring it down and wound up with a lot of salt in the mix.

Dried pods should be every much as potent/useful as fresh pods. I think the general method is to make tea, then evaporate the tea. Something about using alcohol, dosen't get all the goodies?? not entirley sure
