If you want a steady supply of drieds, try http://www.liyf.net/poppy/ Fresh poppies are either easy to grow or very difficult, it all depends upon your climate. HTH |

Sharkie, have fun growing your own pods - I don't want to discourage you one bit. But if you want convenience, the drieds are the real deal, straight from Turkey, India, etc, chock full of ethno yummies in large qty. Unlike Psilo, opiates in drieds are stable and can last decades. |

the feds rarely get involved, you're far more likely to encounter local authorities. poppies are a bit like your san pedro or spores legally. they are legal to possess and grow, but it is illegal to extract or consume the opium. so while you need not worry about getting seeds or even planting a poppy patch in your flower beds, just don't get seen 'milking' the pods and be sure to properly dispose of any 'evidence' of your harvesting the pods. |

Dried poppy pod tea is the most addictive substance I've ever encountered. My only suggestion would be to pace yourself CAREFULLY... I know it sounds lame and ridiculous, but keep in mind that those pods have all the alkaloids that are in morphine, codiene, herion, etc. Several hundred in any given pod. sol |

Sharkie, I PM'ed you. And this post isn't necessarily directed at you but at any Mycotopian interested. Soliver speaks the truth. Dried pod T is an organic (as nature intended) mix of primarily morphine, codeine, thebaine, papaverine, and many others in decreasing percentages. It delivers a deep body glow that lasts a LONG time, as the alkaloids metabolize at different rates, and the overall effect of them combined is different from synthetic opies like Hydro. It is also incredibly insidious, and Mother O will make you her bitch before you realize it. I don't mean to be preachy. We're all adults here who can make a decision. The drieds are readily available, potent, and easy to get. Check the first link I posted in the thread. Then read the "addiction and recovery" forum at poppies.org. Be armed with knowledge. Drieds are legal... for dried flower arrangements. I have never had a shipment siezed. All you're doing is making a dried floral arrangement, right? The pods are opened, deseeded, ground in a coffee blade grinder to powder and added to 1.5 pint boiling water + 3 tbs realemon. Remove pot from heat; steep for 1/2 hour. Strain and drink. The taste is hideous... it helps to have fruit like an apple on hand (munch between and during gulps) to mask the taste. 40 minutes and you'll feel it in your belly. 2 hours in = peak. Fine body glow for 6 to 10 hours. Dosage may be adjusted anywhere from mild opie buzz to a deep nod to death. For the opiate naieve (no tolerance), drink 1/3 of your T, AND WAIT NO LESS THAN 1.5 HOURS. If you aren't where you want to be, drink the next third, etc. It takes a strong-willed person to chip successfully for any length of time. If you do two a month, you will probably not get a monkey. More than that, and you will likely begin to rationalize and do more. Again, sorry to sound so preachy. Take care all. Moose |

Been on the Morphine/Opiate ride before, lets just say I'd rather walk. One of my famous quotes "Death never felt so good". That’s just me but hey, we are all different and adults here and capable of making or own decisions. Just learn all you can before hand. |

Great post Moose - Poppy T. will indeed make you a slave sooner than you think - many over at poppies.org learned (the hard way) not to indulge more than once every two months . . . twice a month is pushing your luck, IMO, unless you want to mess with an ugly habit. The habit is easy to maintain - sickeningly easy. It's the stopping that becomes the problem. Withdrawls from PT are horrible - worse than the worst flu you ever had, and the only cure (besides time) is more tea. Starts with a slight habit, a glass a week... then you get feeling a touch of a cold . . . PT will kill that, right? Then it's a glass every two days, then you're fucked, running around to local florists, junky style, dying because your shipment from the pod warehouse got stuck in Atlanta . . . Again, not to preach, but shrooms are WAY safer and a lot more fun... hell, I used shrooms to kick the PT habit - I was directed here from poppies.org originally, over a year ago. Have fun and do your thing, but be safe - that silly little glass of tea can fuck you up big time if you're not really careful. sol |

And it depends on the size of the pods - the first time I tried it, the recipie I got online said to boil 12 pods to make enough tea for three people. I'm lucky I didn't kill myself - I drank 1/2 the dose, cause' I'm a hardhead - had the best 6 hours of my life then spent the next 12 in a feverish haze, rolling around in bed scratching at my skin till I bled in places... The next afternoon I drank 1/2 the dose to help with the pain . . . did I mention I'm an idiot? The second dose really took, and there I went. PT can also turn you into an asshole after a few weeks - hard to explain, but it just changes you somehow, and not for the better. But if you insist, start with 2-3 medium pods, drink 1/2 the dose. If you have jumbo pods, start with one and drink 1/2 the dose. You can reuse the grounds and extract roughly 1/2 the beginning dose on the second run (i.e., boil the grounds and drink it all for the same dose) good luck & don't say I didn't tell you so Poppies are druugs . . . Drugs are bad - M'kay? Any questions hmm? M'kay? sol |

My understanding of seed use is that the O content you get from any seed decoction is based upon opium gum being deposited on the skins of the seeds from bruised or damaged pods, and the interior of the seeds themselves have little or no opiates. In other words, if a few bugs start munching on a pod, besides getting really mellow, they'll cause the active sap from the damaged pod to flow internally, and coat some of the seeds. The O then remains as hardened gum on the skins of the seeds. The seeds are simply the vector for you to get the Opium gum coating into your system. There are problems with the use of seeds. If the seed packer thoroughly washes the seeds, the O content will be very low. On the opposite end, there are reports of bulk asian and mid-eastern seeds which are unwashed and can send you to dreamland. Dosing with seeds is inconsistent, and with opies this can be a hazard. |
