its so hard to measure potency, you know. if both the pods are dry they should be about the same. alot of experienced people say that pods can be stored up to ten years without much lose of potency but never go on assumptions, not much facts when your talking about potency.

Hey twoguys. My standard practice with pods, no matter if it's with 25 or 400, is to process them all at once. By this I mean quartering them with a good, sharp knife, then either chopping up the pod material a little finer or pulling it apart some with your hands before tossing it in a good grinder (coffee grinder works fine, but of course you can only do a small amount at a time so doing a lot of pods can be a bit tedious) and pulverizing everything as well as you can manage. Basically I process all of my pods in this way, and mix the results together in an large, air tight jar. I also make sure I mix everything VERY well. Honestly, it won't hurt to mix it up a bit in a blender/food processor or even just in a huge bowl with a spatula, or something like that. The more thoroughly your powder is mixed, the more consistent your dosing will be (obviously). So when it comes to dosing the best bet is then to start very small and dose by weight, titrating your dose until you hit the spot that's just right for you. From then on out your powder should be more or less consistent, and dosing becomes much easier/safer. There's many ways of doing it, I just find this particularly efficient and convenient. I have had ZERO problems with storing large amounts of processed pod in air tight jars in this fashion, but then again none of my stuff has ever lasted that long...certainly not over 1 year. At this point though, I only really buy pods twice a year and so they are stored for roughly 6 months in this fashion with no noticeable loss of potency. I tend to think it would last much, much longer than this...so both of your samples are probably more or less as "fresh" as the day they were chopped. Whatever you decide good luck man and be careful with this one, less is more!! Oh yeah BTW, I am a religious chomper of the pods (take mine in yogurt, and have done so for years, probably wouldn't do it any other way...) so if you're planning to make tea then maybe you don't want such a fine powder. IDK, I only did tea a few times and I was reallllly unimpressed, not to mention turned off by the flavor. I was most likely doing it wrong however, since so many people here have success with that method. I'd still say you want your pods to be mixed as thoroughly as possible though...there's not a HUGE variance from pod to pod, but this method of dosing is still safer in my mind. G'luck!

kept in a cool dark place the pods will keep their potency 2 years at least...this is from experience. processing them all at once is okay, but less risk involved with removing what you need from a box rather than having pre ground pods in a container. pre ground pods show intent, and with the pods we must keep intent on our side.

Well I ordered a pack of the zhir strain because I've heard that they are the easiest to grow but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these.I started them in peat pods yesterday and am making sure that they get plenty of water. Are they sensitive to too much water?

Yep, they are peonies. This is the first year of these for me. I personally like the flowers better, not sure on the harvest size of the pods though. We will see! As far as spacing, I just scatter seeds, then pull the smallest plants, leaving 3-4 in a clump. Has worked well for me. Although, their are alot of variables in the overall size of the plants.
