Well, im realizing my work is sucking more and more everyday. I believe I might be able to get a law suit against my employer. I need all the legal info from you guys

    This is what happend :

well, it started when i went back to work after a 3 month leave. since i don't look the best in hiked up black dress paints, i bought a larger pair so i could get some slack. now the pants sag down to around my lower hips, all the managers would complain, but really couldnt do anything because i was still following the dress code. I did have a belt on, but shit....i like em loose

well one day, an older female manager comes up to me and says "pull up your shirt", well i didnt, so she did it for me, then replied with " your pants are fallin off you, and your belt isnt holding them up, what is? your dinky? - that was in an area where no other person could hear it though. Although their were other times when remarks were made out loud such as " whats holdin your pants up, we know its not your belt". It kind of bothered me because these women are way, and i stress that, way too old for me. Since then it's been constant bitching and i really have lost modivation to get up and go to work. I did speek with a co-worker who said if i were to go to the board of labor, she would testify if it came down to it.

So do you think i have a case? If so, if i were to succeed, what would the outcome be? Would I get money, or just get the person in trouble? I like the people who were saying it, I just find it offensive.

You will get them in trouble(at work), and it is very unlikely that you would be able to "cash in"(in civil court).

If you like these people, then find a way to tell them you are uncomfortable without resorting to tattling. They probably think they are complimenting you. Believe me, they will be embarrased enough when you confront them, there's no need to bring H.R. into it. You could ruin several careers over a joke.

Yeah in order to have a case I'm pretty sure you've got to make it very clear to them in words that you don't apreciate those kinds of remarks.

Also, if you're really serious that it's affecting your workplave environment and you think that you need to file a suit, you might want to consult a lawyer over us.

You are looking for a sexual harassment case? I would think you need witnesses or recordings because u are a man. You would prob get laughed at unless you had one or the other. Kinda like men getting raped.

If and I stress IF you where a woman you would have a case for sexual harasment.
But as you are a man it would get you know where to file a law suit. The only option you realy have is to file a greviance with your human resource dept and if you happen to not have one then you would proced to the imdeditea supervisor.
But that would cause the women you a friendly with to be repramanded. Poasbly lose there jobs.
Your best bet is to be a responcable adult and address the isue at hand with your coworkers.
Odds are it will take a simple discussion , if that has no effect then report it.
Just be sure to think all the options and consequences completly thru.
    Good luck..

First-Are you union or not? If not a complaint to a supervisor and then if you recieve no satisfaction, go to HR. Still no satisfaction, get a lawyer. Talking with these people will only be interpeted as weakness and bring on more ridicule but talk if you must. If no union you will soon be fired as a trouble maker or some other lame excuse. There is a republican in office so the Labor board will do nothing.
Document everything-time, place, what was said, actions of the other party. Don't depend on memory, write it down. Authority is scared of the written word. After they fire you will have a working conditions case. Take your info to a labor attorney and maybe after 5 or six years you may get an award but the lawyer will take 40% if the company settles the time period will be shorter but the lawer will still take his 40% and you will still be fired. Life sucks sometimes. Good luck

some times a union is a sure way to get screwed from both ends. I was a deputy chief steward and all I got for it was fired and set up with bullshit protection orders and fucking "sneaky peeker men outside my yard for a week to provoke me into violating the PPO's.
All the chief steward suggested was to let all the time limitations lapse so I could THEN get my own attourny.
I got me a new job for 200 bucks less a week, but I'm happier than I've been for at least five years.
No one should have to dread each day Muffy, and no one needs to put up with others bullshit like that. If seriously talking to them as an adult doesnt make things better then start bitchin up the chain one step at a time. the only other option is to put up with it or find another job.
I find even the most unreasonable people can be reasoned with if you make an honest effort to communicate that they are being a pain.

this is true, thats why I believe i am throwing in the towel on this one.

Nothing sucks more than waking up at 5am to go do something you absolutly hate, then get bitched at while you are there.

Sounds about right. Instead of suing your employer it seems like you should get a new job. One where your preferred style of dress is acceptable.

If you don't want to dress the part maybe it's not the part for you; at least not at this stage in your life.

no dice goodluck youd be spending to much cash on a lawyer just for them to make an appeal it could take along time to cash in if ever unless you have a solid case.

You definitely must tell them that you find their language/treatment offensive, preferably in writing, to have a case. That usually puts an end to the harrassment, but 'notice' is a pre-requisite.

Not to be a dick, but... Quit being a slob and pull up your pants. It kills me when people want to sue someone over the DUMBEST things. Try to put yourself in her shoes, would you want one of your employees looking like a bum? When you are at work you need to at least ACT professional, and if you don't like your job than find another one. If you persue this you could get a person in a lot of trouble just for trying to do there job, thats bullshit IMO.

I was wearing a pair of shorts and a partially-open butten-down shirt, not low pants but my boxers were showing about a half inch or so out the top, and my landlady asked me to button it all the way up because "something about men's underwear offends me."

How do these people get laid?
