TAMPA, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol says anyone missing two big bags of pot can call their Tampa area office.
A crew picking up litter along Interstate 4 Tuesday morning made an unusual find: two big plastic garbage bags stuffed with freshly harvested marijuana.
FHP Trooper Larry Coggins said the 60 pounds of pot might be worth around $54,000 on the street. It probably fell off or was thrown from a car on the interstate, he said.
Coggins said it's not the largest amount of pot ever dumped along a roadside, but it's certainly not a common find.

And I don't see anything that looks bud-like in the pic; I'm going with it being dumped trimmings.

As far as calling to claim it, it never hurts to ask. People really have reported drug stashes stolen before!

Throwing bags onto the side of a major highway is a foolish way to get rid of it, trim or not. They could have tossed it into the bay, they could have stuffed it into a dumpster or buried it with no one the wiser.

More evidence that Florida is simply full of insanity.

I live down here and have heard a lot of funny shit on the TV about this find. Many people have called up the Sherriff's dept. and said that was there's, under a myriad of AKA's, Santa Clause, a plethora of Holywood stars, including Ardold (the Gov) Swartsnager.

Oh yeah, it's been a real hay day (no pun intended) down here. A lot of smart ass comments have crossed the air waves. Peace on people, and may the bags of plently fall on your doorstep.

Son of a bitch.... That's where my weed went. 60# = $54,000.... Homegrown.... That is faulty math IMO. If it was the DANK that is way under, if it is shwag, it is way over, and that's what they tend to do. I've seen reports where they said stuff like, we seized 200 #'s of MJ with a street value of $2,000,000 - $4,000,000 and then they show pictures of some crappy dirt from Mexico. Anyway, what a shame. I guarantee not all 60#'s got destroyed. effin pigs.

As an after thought, even though this weed was of low quality, a Bubble Sack could've been put to very good use for this excess. I would've sure like to given it go provided I had been given the chance.

Damn, that bag would've have definately given me the incentive to buy a Bubble Sack. Oh well, dream on.
