i realize many will want to post harshly critical rants against president obama for the next 4 years. BUT fair warning- stay away from racial BS . if i get the slightest impression that someone is even being subtly racist with a cartoon or a remark i will quash it like a bug.

Nice. I think Obama is alright.... I just thought it would take more experience to be president. Like the other guy... uh forgot his name he had somewhat experience while Obama has none. But I could be wrong, its early in Obamas presidency to be making judgements already.

Obama is only half black. It really doesn't matter anyway IMO. I wasn't happy about the election, but now since he is our president it is time to get behind him and support him. I hope things will turn around and he keeps the strong will he has shown.

I'm from a newer generation and I don't see race as a major factor. But many people I know of all ages who voted for Obama did so based on race, they did it because of the historical aspect. I always ask them, "Isn't picking someone based on race just discrimination? So you picked an nominee that is more inexperienced than King George W. just so you could make history?" (Disclaimer: There are a lot of people who voted for Obama for other reasons.)

barack obama, as part of his stimulus plan, gave hollywood a $278 million dollar tax break to buy new cameras and such. Larry Flynt just may get a piece of this yet...

we have had many inexperienced presidents, really unless it's their 2nd term they were all inexperienced when elected to that office- being a senator or a businessman , governor, whatever, is not really 'experience' for that job, no more than watching a few fires would make me an 'experienced' fireman.

Your right, there is a lot of on the job training. It's really just advisers, lawyers, ect. that tell the bad presidents what to do. The good presidents think for themselves (not special intrests), and hopefully for the people of the United States.

btw for the record i voted for mc-cain based on his experience. however that too is utterly irrelevant to my point above. irregardless of for whom you voted or why our policies here require the utmost sensitivity and tolerance, any hint of race-based criticism of obama will be grounds to delete a member's account here.

I too voted for McCain, because Ron Paul could not win. My problem with President Obama is not his inexperience, color, or party affiliation. It's his agenda, which I fear will spell the end of America as we know it in the worst case scenario, and at least a great loss of personal liberty for all of us at it's best. Catdaddy

Hence, I have nothing against obama. Just take this into consideration, why would one vote for one that has yet none experience when the other has yet at least little experience? And it has been said above, to make history. Though Obama is president now, I support him as long as he does this "Change" the way he said it would be done.

i also voted for mccain, although i do think maybe we're on the right track by focusing on the economy, i hope obama does a good job... being racist toward obama would be one thing in my opinion, but he is the president and deserves the respect... i never did like how harshly some people bashed bush, sure him and his administration didn't always make the best decisions, none the less he was our president and the leader of our country shoudn't be talked about like that

he has brought the world together, he didn't get egged at inauguration, and he got my vote, plus he actually thinks about whats coming out of his mouth, i love the man! new energy and foreign relations are two of the most important issues, and i think he has good visions for both. |

The world does have their eye on him. Did you notice that Israel got out of Gaza to not stress the relationship with Obama? Lets hope for the future and all of us need to aim for a positive direction, because there is a lot of bad ahead if things don't get straight soon.

It's not the person you respect, it's the office of President you respect. Two different things. I did not agree or like the last 3 presidents or our current elected, but I do respect the office they hold. Promise of change? I've heard that since Nixon and not once have any of the past President's kept their promise to change. It will be the same with this one. They are all puppets.

Why not just have a racism sticky as opposed to an obama sticky.Sure he's black but i dont give a damn about anyones skin color. on the radio and for the past three weeks all i hear about his overcoming adversaty, because of his skin color. i think mainstream media has blown it out of proportion just like every other liberal issue.

i don't buy that for one second, i heard and saw hundreds of racists before the election, many more deny it in public. obama will be a target and i don't care to see any cartoon caricatures with big lips, nose, etc. no jokes about cottonfields, fried chicken, watermelon- who the fuck doesn't like fried chicken and watermelon ? i love both and ribs too so i do not want to hear such stereotypes here. my site, my policy.

Racist people reinforce negative stereotypes about themselves when they act racist. It just show how narrow minded they are. The world would be boring if we were all the same, I love to experience culture, even if my stomach doesn't handle it as well. "Can't we all just get a bong" |

Since this thread has popped up again... Just an observation. When I and others made negative comments about the current admin's agenda, and here I give FAR more credit to others- like Pelosi and Reid- people would sometimes say, "hey, give him a break! Let him DO something before you criticize him!" Now that we've experienced the controversial nominations of tax cheats.... The LACK of transparency regarding the content of the "Stimulus Package"... And the phenomenally fast way the House approved both the first draft and the revised one, with out any possibility that they might have actually READ the damn thing.... I don't seem to hear those voices much anymore, here or elsewhere. Could it be that the bloom is off the rose?

i doubt that- it's just that a few very vocal fools and tools are trying to create a false impression in an effort to smear obama- no well-informed intelligent supporter nor critic expected a quick-fix in his first month in office. but that's how it's being played, like it's some colossal failure when many of his staff are still un-packing boxes into empty offices. pure politics and as such unacceptable here.
