medicare drug program 200% over budget

Here's a good article on how the bush administration just screwed the american tax payer.

    http://www.salon.com/opinion/conason...dicare_fiasco/

Instead of 400B cost it is likely to be $1.2 TRILLION.

Included are details of the fixing and bribing that went on to get the bill to pass.

Add this to the list of disasters that the republican congress has overseen when you go to vote this november:

    Iraq,
    Katrina
    Lobbying scandal
    Patriot act
    torture
    illegal spying
    lost surpluses
    record deficits

Feel free to add to the list if I have missed anything.

    more party politics.
just when we were starting to recover from the last election.
    so
you gonna give us a state-by-state list of
    everyone
    you think
    we should vote for ?
or are we just supposed to
    guess ?

    hey, wait a minute-
    aren't you canadian ?
why are you interfering in our internal affairs ?

"When the US sneezes Canada catches the flu"

Can't remember who said that but it pretty much sums up our situation.

If the US collapses under a pile of debt or the currency tanks then we go down with you.

That plus I just REALLY dislike Bushy boy.

American politics are great. It takes two years to elect a president and then it's time for congressional and senate elections. Non-stop elections, forever.

the sad thing is that you speak truth
    when you say
    non-stop elections.
    got the local stuff too.
    but unfortunately for you canadians
    congressional elections tend to follow
the old adage that all politics is local.
so it's pretty hard to pin the patriot act, for example,
on some joe smith congressman from arizona.
even senators often get re-elected based on their seniority,
the people know they can bring home the bacon/pork.
so i would not expect these elections to do much more
than shift a few seats in both chambers to the dems.
i daresay even a stunning democratic landslide would not,
    could not end the wars,
nor fix medicaid nor the rest of your list.
i still remember when the dems held sway for 8 years
and we had the same problems.

Yea, I'd have to say that people do vote for the candidate who will 'bring home the pork'. Just remember that stupid 'brdige to nowhere' in alaska. I think it was almost a quarter of a BILLION dollars to some island with less than 500 people on it.

OMFG. How people don't get ill over this is beyond me and don't get me wrong I think this whole pork thing is bipartisan.

It must be especially hard on the true blue fiscal conservatives to have to support this gov't since Bush is big gov't all the way and conservatives are supposed to be small gov't.
