Rodger Rabbit is being sent a spore sample of FMRC's Red Spore Producing Ps. cubenis. It will go off to him postal mail today 6/18/04. Perhaps when he receives it, he will take a good close up picture to show its actual true color, and post it here for all to see. When the print is fresh and wet, it displays more of the Red color. As the print dries, it gets more brownish. I detected the same thing with PF's Red Spore pictures I have. The spores are at 20 years old, but still looked very good. I worked some 25 years with mushrooms like Psilocybe, but now work only on Amanita and other mycorrhiza type mushrooms. If you do have success with getting a live culture, please attach the phrase "FMRC's" to all spores and cultures as to not upset the PF dude. He seems to be saving his for something.....like having it named after himself. I think the variation of "RED Spore" is all that is needed with FMRC's strain. I certainly don't care if the variation is not named after me......Good Luck and don't have too much fun Rodger........You have Postal Mail. slp/fmrc

<blockquote><hr size=0><!-quote-!><font size=1>quote:</font> does anyone know what strain of cubensis has the best visuals?<!-/quote-!><hr size=0></blockquote> honestly, no. but everyone has their opinion. i have tried dozens of different strains and i cannot say any was better than the others, at least in terms of visuals. like they said above, dose plays a far more important role. 10-14 dry grams of any strain will send you on a vision you'll never forget. if you remember it. |

It might have been my post you read about the Psilocybe Baeocystin. I honestly have no experience with it, I only read that in a mushroom ID book. Also, in the Audobon guide it's referred to as "Potent Psilocybe." I can say that the only times I've had open eye visuals have been after eating fresh cubensis, so it makes sense that the baeocystin breaks down in drying. However, you also have to look at the fact that when you eat food raw, whether it's fruit, vegetables, or meat, they contain enzymes that aid tremendously in digestion. And obviously fresh, chewed up mushrooms are going to pass through you way faster than little dry, hard bits. So, it may simply be this reason that fresh mushrooms give a shorter trip, higher peak, while dry mushrooms take a lot more for open eye visuals, and the trip lasts longer. Peace |

Think I just may try that when I get my next flush. I already had some pretty strong visuals from freshies and I'ld probably say the peak (wich was intense) lasted about 2.5 hrs. The whole trip about 4-4.5 hrs. |
