I am a new member her at topia, I am a woman, and I freely posted what I consider to be beautifully artful and tasteful pics of myself on the BNL thread. I was not coerced in any way shape or form. I have never felt disrespected in any way by any member here male or female. The things you have stated here are not only based in ingnorance but are rather insulting. Here is something I would like to share with you; I have never posted any other nude pictures of myself anywhere, and when I made the decision to do so here I did it after much contemplation. Here is what happened due to my choice, I found myself to be a very beautiful woman. I was able to see my body as art for the first time in my life, I cannot express the way it has changed my outlook. I was so proud of how beautiful I felt about the way my pics turned out that I even showed them to members of my family, including my mom, who also thought they were beautiful and artistic. This experience has boosted my own self image and my body confidence. All coments left in reference to my pics (as well as the pics of the other beauties that posted) were in very good taste and not once was I made to feel like an object, or less of a person, or demeaned in any way. I cannot understand how you could take such a stance as a woman when the BNL is such a representation of women being beautiful and proud of it. There is nothing to be ashamed of in what we have here and the fact that you picked on one thread and ran with it without experiencing the rest of this site and what it is here for, really tells me that you never even gave it a chance, and that makes me feel sorry for the missed knowledge you would have been able to gain and share by being a member of this community. Maybe your parachute just isn't open enough for you to accept everyone here as they are. I know already, even from my limited experience, that you would have been accepted as you are.

well, for one. please stay. two, we have many female mods and members that actively hang out in chat with everyone. this place is not sexist.

if there are ever issues with that type of thing usually the mods and admin step in and keep it respectful. the rules state to be fair to everyone. and i think thats the case minus a few aholes. and you are going to get aholes anywhere you go on the internet.

I've seen almost the exact same rants posted in other contexts, and as a soc student would know, context is everything. Until getting a few years of real life experience, the initial tendency is to have a hair-trigger chip on their shoulder ready to attack any instances of "exploitation," "male privilege," "sexism," and all the rest that they may encounter. Never mind the fact that nobody except the choir likes a preacher, so all your efforts are in vain so long as you use that approach. If I was your boyfriend I would also have unceremoniously showed you the door for that little outburst done under his name, but in this world of exploitation and privilege I guess emasculation doesn't count, huh? I bet it was shocking to you to see such an enlightened individual such as yourself being called homophobic... by a woman! You may want to consider that some of your professors and some of the books you've read may be full of shit.
