| have you ever considered the edible, medicinal and commercial aspect of this hobby as a possible future(how about a huge greenhouse behind the belly dancing school)? what i mean is have you ever thought about investing the time and effort you spend or spent here, and put it towards the edible, medicinal market? not for the money part but the medicinal and nutritional values we know some fungi have.maybe finding a new species that will aid in curing illnesses? you have done a great job on the net hip, but can not be taken as seriously as stamets or other mycologist, you are the like stamets of the underground. did you ever want to take it overground? |

| Do you fear burnout (for yourself) due to the nature of the beast itself? oh yeah. i get burned out from time to time. i'm human. and you can tell when i do because my post count here drops off. in fact, i'm just coming off about a two month burn-out. and i've had others before. the mods and good people here pretty much keep the show going all by themselves, i'm not needed here anymore as much as i used to be, back when we were much smaller. there was a time when my posts were almot 50% of our daily activity here. now on a busy day i'm often less than 10%. others have come to take up my slack, rodger and soliver, faht, hidra, highflyer. and there will be more in the days to come. my hope is to one day be able to take a real vacation, and go away for a few months at a time with 'topia still humming along in my absence. that'd be sweet. i really need that vacation. | Physically - The content of this site. Philosophically - This space and system you have laid out for this community to exist. physically, the site contents- yes. i do have legal ownership of much of the content and all of the format itself. not that i really sought after such ownership, but over time we were forced by circumstances to recognize the rules and laws of society that apply even here. lemme run it down to you- i had to file for legal trademark on the name mycotopia not because i'm a prick intent on getting rich but because some other fucker was trying to steal it for himself by filing for the trademark behind my back. you dig ? if i didn't take legal ownership, someone else was going to. you can't leave something that's valuable just lying around without a legal owner. sad but reality. philosophically- the spirit of mycotopia i cannot 'own'. i look at mycotopia kinda like it was my own child. thru pain i gave birth to a living thing, i molded it in my image along the way but i do not own it and one day i will set it free to go its' own way without me. i'm doing my best to prepare it for that day, helping it to mature, grow up, get strong. i'm a parent, not an owner. | Any substance you would recommend staying away from or that you had a bad experience with? speed of all forms be it coke or meth or minithins. speed will eat you up alive, age you 20 years in 5. and really here's the thing- almost every drug is bad if you take it too often or take too much. conversely almost every drug is fine if you take it just a little and not often. so the key is your appetites, not the drugs themselves. if your appetities are out of control you can destroy yourself on just about anything from paint thinner to marijuana to meth, crack, dope, booze. so master you appetites and it's all open to you. | After doing some research I found a startling discovery. Hippie is really John Holmes. He faked his own death after many death threats due to the Wonderland murders. So what is it like having a 15 inch tool, do you use it as a hockey stick, or perhaps as a measuring device to determing how much san pedro you should eat? And who was your favorite actress to bone, I would guess Traci Lords !!! (Message edited by rocketman on December 07, 2004) |

And who was your favorite actress to bone, I would guess Traci Lords !!! i mostly use it to make sure i don't pee on my own shoes. traci was a teeny bopper slut puppy. i think it's pretty hard to pick just one when you've had as many women as i have. but i'd like a crack at hillary clinton, or maybe better yet, laura bush. just to even the score a bit. | What is your occupation at the moment? besides this you mean ? none, i'm retired. a bum, self-employed. that kind of thing. haven't had a real job since '90. but i've done many things in my life. worked several years in the printing industry. several more as a carpenter, maintenance man at hotels and apartment complexes. but my bike wreck pretty much put an end to all that. since then i've had to live by my wits as my body is just too fucked to earn a living. | What were your childhood and teen years like? pretty rough. my dad was in prison when i was born. i never saw much of him, he was a bum, too. rode the freight trains around the country, moving from one job to another, just barely getting by. he drank too much and my mom divorced him when i was still very young, i have few happy memories of him as a child, really only one- the time he came and we made kites to fly out of newspapers and use flour/water glue. very primitive but i was a kid and i was thrilled to have a kite at all. it was the 60's and welfare hadn't really been invented yet, my mom had to work all the time to raise us boys i spent a lot of time at baby-sitters. we were dirt poor. i remember one xmas where mom just bought us about $5 worth of cheap plastic cowboys & indians, toy soldiers, etc. she sent us to catholic school but it was hard there as most kids were from wealthy families, paying high tuition but i got to go free as long as mom took us to mass every sunday morning and put a little something in the collection plate. i guess that's where i first learned to fight back for myself, i can remember the kids getting in a circle around me to taunt me over my school uniform which was 2nd hand, worn-out. i got in a lot of fights. but i was a small child, my thyroid gland wasn't working right but no one knew that. so i had to learn how to use my feet and my wits to get around larger, stronger opponents. i grew up in an rough italian-irish neighborhood and got jumped just about every day as i walked to/from school. i got beat alot at home too, those were the 60's and everyone spanked their kids. mom was no exception, and raising boys all by herself i guess she figured she needed to do it a little more to keep us in line. this 'life story' thing is a huge topic so i'll leave more for later. this covers me up till about the age of 8-9 (Message edited by admin on December 08, 2004) Last edited by Hippie3 : 08-31-07 at 06:48. |

I was thinking a manage with the Bush daughters, actually; just get 'em drunk and coked up and I'm sure they'll do anything. Hippie3, Hippie3, I know I have questions for you, I just don't know what to say... What's more annoying: people who jack threads (speaking from experiance) or people who don't put threads in the right forums (also speaking from experiance)?} |

| What's more annoying: people who jack threads (speaking from experience) or people who don't put threads in the right forums (also speaking from experience)? i'm never been a real stickler for such niceties, if the forum is wrong sometimes i move it, many times i don't. i am reluctant to move it because that makes it harder for the poster when he checks back later, they often think someone's deleted them and wonder WTF?! on thread=jacking again i don't really mind if the flow of conversation takes a detour, that's just folks talking which is what we want. we've had threads than began as simple cake questions that turned into mega-threads about life, god, history, etc. no harm there. but if by thread jacking you mean deliberate garbage meant to disrupt the conversation like we often see at other forums that we just do not tolerate here. if someone posts a nasty picture in a thread, it's gone in seconds. if they persist they're gone too. a sizeable % of the folks you find at other sites are rejects from here, people who, like whiterasta over at shroomery, came here long ago and were sent packing in short order. foul mouthed aggressive opinionated assholes are limited to just 1 here, me. but i reserve that side of me for those who come here looking for trouble. not many do, anymore. they know better. | do you foresee that at any time in the future (whether near or far) there will ever be some sort of gathering of mycotopians? A reunion of sorts? i'll see you on the dark side of the moon. seriously ? i doubt it ever happens until the laws change. just too risky. | What is your favorite method of ingestion? proly have to say tea. but chocolates are nice, too. i can eat them just about any way, i often just roll a semi-dry one up in a ball and swallow it like a pill washing it down. bigger ones get the scissors. capsules are handy too, esp. for those who can't even take a tea. but i like a sip a nice warm cup of honey-sweetened tea and just sit, looking out my back door. | in this life.. what moment brought you the most: fear? tough one. fear has many forms. i remember being forced to lie out on my face on a cold west texas road at night while two cowboys held loaded guns to my head. that was pretty scary. i saw a friend of mine die after getting shot 5 times. i've walked into a room full of natural gas pouring full-bore from a broken furnace pipe to shut it down while everyone else ran away. i've waded waist-high across flooded basement to turn off the electricity. i've been pinned under a semi and dragged several dozen yards while glass and metal exploded around me. i've stopped breathing during surgery and had to be resuscitated. i guess i'm not one who's very prone to physical fear. just been thru too much shit for it to really phase me anymore. been ready for death since i was 17. i guess if i had to pick one event it'd be the ride to the hospital after a phone call told me my son had been hurt. i didn't know yet if he was still alive. he was not. | in this life.. what moment brought you the most: happiness? ouch. another tough one. i'm not really sure i can answer this one. walking out of jail had to be among the top 10. the births of my children, my wedding day. but i am a simple man, the kind who is 'happy' just about all the time. i've had so many 'moments' that i really cannot pick a 'best', sorry. maybe it'll come to me later... | in this life.. what moment brought you the most: peace? i'm waiting for death, that will be the day i find peace. until then it's stress, conflict then repeat. here again i've had many moments but no one single event stands out. i derive satisfaction from finishing a job, solving a problem. the moments right after i do are about as close as i ever come to peace. | If you where to find a genie's lamp and he gave you three wishes what would you want ? (and you cant ask for more wishes) lol first i'd wish for the wisdom needed to make my next two wishes. after that, who knows ? proly my health back would top the list, drugs and booze and bad spills have taken a heavy toll on me physically. it'd be nice to feel good again. world peace would be nice, esp. with no more miss america to lead the way. ![]() Last edited by Hippie3 : 08-31-07 at 07:00. |

| what's your favorate book? again with the 'just pick one...' being an avid reader for many years, that's hard to do. it'd be easier if the ? was split into topics, like fav sci-fi or fav humor , etc. i've gotten a lot out of the bible even though i'm not judaeo-xian. how about if i name my favorite author ? i might say isaac asimov.
